Hi all,
As per the title, both under bed cab lights have been working without issue until a few nights ago on one the rocker switch is now not clicking positively in on or off position (the first light in the wiring) and I think this may have popped a fuse as both now not working.
I have put a meter on and getting no readings on any wiring but everything else in van is working so I think it may have its own fuse and they worked when the hab electrics were off.So maybe connected on cab side?
I have been through all the manuals , checked all the fuses on mains distribution ,van dash fusebox (not in engine compartment) and found nothing.
I remember a post from before (think in may have been Flairy )having a similar problem but have done a search and can't find it.
So any advise on this as I'm not getting very far😅
I will replace the light when I get back from Spain, incase it's the slack rocker switch that is the cause and will leave it unplugged.

Cheers Cris 🍻

We had two chrome adjustable reading lights on stalks under our front lowerable bed and they also gave up the ghost and I could not find the source of the power or fuses so ended up rewiring the lights to my own fused power source.

You might get more help if you put this query in the Niesmann & Bischoff forum under Motorhome Types, Continental Vans, Niesmann & Bischoff where owners watch the thread and comment accordingly.

Thanks for the reply ,I can't trace it either 😞
I am putting a lithium setup in when I get back from Spain I'm April.
The van has no usb sockets so I will set up a separate fuse box to wire new stuff up so new lights from here is an option like you have done.👍.

I ran cables to two new busbars under the floor one positive and one negative and have added USB sockets to each bedside in the back so that phones and iPads are not near the Vanbitz alarm. I also added a Din socket in the waste water hatch so I can run a submersible pump to fill up with water from an Aquaroll if we are pitched up for while and don't want to move the van. They also power the new front bed lights and an Ablemail battery master which I have not yet succeeded in programming. I have also run to a new Din socket in the back at the bottom of the stairs by the shower to power an Endless Breeze fan when its too warm at night for sleeping abroad.

My only other unsolved problem is that the nearside driving lights wont come on for driving but do for indicators, alarm and the light to your front door when you lock the van.🤷‍♂️

Pugsy. On our Iveco Flair Chris, the underbed lights are powered from the cab electrics, which I would suspect to be the same for your Fiat, ie, using the cab light power source, wherever that is fused.

HTH,

Jock. :)

Sounds similar to what I will do.Iam putting a neg busbar after the shunt so hopefully I can see what it all uses. The cbe panel shows a constant draw of 1.5/2amps when just the system is on but would like to know what's using what .
That's a pain about the driving lights problem, van wiring can be a nightmare.

I self built my last van and it all ran of 12v with no hookup and no probs in 7 years, now I'm back to dodgy manufacturers wiring 😅

Ye Jock ,that's what I thought as you can use them with the hab electric off, but I can't find any blown fuses anywhere as of yet . I haven't been in the engine bay fuse box yet but though the fuse would have been in the dash fusebox.
The search goes on, a new wire might be the option if I can't locate the fault.

Cheers Cris 🍻.
