Are there really queues at Dover?

Just planning a long overdue getaway via Dover in the not too distant future using Tesco vouchers (great scheme).
Seen plenty of media coverage about "long queues/delays" at Dover. New French customs "wet signatures" requirement to blame apparently.
Is that similar to a French Kiss ?

No mention of similar delays at Eurotunnel.

Is this really the situation or is it (as usual) just media hype?

If so, how long are people delayed at the moment?

And.... is it the same at Calais? Any action reporters on the scene?

The long delays are for freight https://live.sixfold.com/ shows the current timings for the ports, assume you can drive around the queues on the M20 though.

Yes thanks I'm well aware of these sources but like campsite requests I am looking for reports back of Funsters actually driving through Dover and Calais ports this week. Traffic maps give a general impression but when motorhomes/cars and lorries are all mixed up in the same area it's impossible to know exactly what's going on.

If in doubt divert off the M20 onto the A249 over Detling Hill onto the M2/A2 and then drop down to the Channel Tunnel. That should avoid the M20 'Lorry Park'.

Even better take the M2 and use the ferry
