Well next time you meet with the experts tell themall over 40s will be offered a vaccine by easter, and there is talk of offering a million jabs a day in the next few weeks. I think we could take the risk of opening the toilet blocks now?

its really not a big deal emptying the cassette, takes 5 min and gets one out in the fresh air, makes us appreciate the sophistication of our house loo and so on ...Nice. I was in a good mood for one whole day until i heard that! Its not particularly practical even in a motorhome if you want to stay more than 1 night - unless you've got a fully serviced pitch. And you enjoy cleaning out the casette.
Agree,,toilet in our van is cleaner than any site loo and I know who has used it..BUSBY.Why not... do you not have a shower and/or toilet in your motorhome?
Despite the negatives, using your own private personal facilities is far preferable to using communal ones.
Just 1 night ?? I spend around 6 WEEKS on an Aire in France with only water and grey/black water disposal. I have a shower and toilet and use them.Nice. I thought Aires had a maximum stay of 72 hours. Can we stay that long on one?Just 1 night ?? I spend around 6 WEEKS on an Aire in France with only water and grey/black water disposal. I have a shower and toilet and use them.
It’s more of a guideline..I thought Aires had a maximum stay of 72 hours.
i like the photo tombola. I just worked my way through 3 series of 'Bottom'...i'm that bored right now. Whats most worrying is how many little sayings Ive got that are taken directly from the script! I'll have to find 'filthy rich and catflap' now, thats his lesser known 'oevre'I prefer to use my own facilities.
When I go away, its a break, chill down from my normal V busy life.
Doing the cassette, cleaning the van spotless inside and out, doing any odd jobs on it , going for a hike with the dogs, get some "van" shopping the relaxing with a newspaper and a brew is a holiday for me.
Only time I use site facilities is when my water is low
Butler not back to work by then and no one to empty the garderobes terrible when you cant get the staffNice. I was in a good mood for one whole day until i heard that! Looking forward to see you as the SME on Boris’s next news conferencethe mitigation is grossly disproportionate to the actual risk being faced. We will have to agree to disagree.
I've been motorhoming since the last century, but always used the campsite shower and toilets, except at night. On our France/Spain trip last year I decided to stay as covid-safe as possible, so didn't use the campsite facilities at all, using the on-board facilities. It was just a habit, I suppose. It's no big deal emptying the grey waste and the cassette, and filling with fresh water a bit more often. We nearly always use campsites, except for overnight stops, because autoroutress prefers it.I am amazed at the amount of people who appear to own fully equipped mohos yet don't like using their own facilities.
Ok folks this is how I see it
we have spent 14 months in lockdown as of 12th April we are allowed out to play but we are not allowed to crap/wash where someone else has to clean.
So the question is go away and use own facilities ?(answer A) or wait till all sites can open and offer full crap away facilities (answer b)
I’m sorry but I don’t understand the shower closure thing. Has anyone seen any proof anywhere of anyone catching Covid from using a shower?I sort of understand the closure of showers, but not toilet facilities. When I open the pub I assume I am allowed to open the toilets, even if I can only serve my guests food and drink alfresco. I haven't been told not to let my guests use the loo...
As for me, in my van, I'd rather use my own loo than go walking all the way across a site, tripping over guide ropes in the dark. I don't have a shower so I might use one on a site. But generally I don't stay at sites and wash in the sink. Perhaps I'm a little strange. It's been said before...
