Apple Pay, anyone using it and is it any good? Pros and Cons please.

Thanks in advance.

Have resisted for years but last year when I got my new iPhone I put Apple Pay on and love it. So easy to use. But I still carry my wallet with cash in. 😂

I go months not using any other payment method than ApplePay, both UK and EU. Been using it since NFC payments were launched…

Using it for years now..it's great.. pay for everything with it, stores, online.. parking machines et al

In the Apple wallet, have my bank debit card, bank credit card and Revolut card on for use abroad..

no longer take cards with me now .. plastic is old skool..

I agree it’s so easy and convenient.

I put it on my phone because I forgot to pick up my wallet on 2 occasions while popping to the shop.
Now, it’s my preferred method of payment.

Not for me I’m afraid.

I just don’t like all my eggs in one basket 😊

Strangely no.

I’m down with the kids a use a material one for everyday use.

The leather one is for special occasions 😉😂
🤣

Be it leather or (trendy) fabric, you keep cards and cash in it! Effectively one basket? 😇

Since Covid it’s the only thing I have used. Been caught out a couple of times when it hasn’t worked and needed a physical card. But luckily always had management with me.

I use it all the time. One day I forgot both wallet and phone, then realised after a phone call received on my watch, I had it on that as well. So now no wallet or phone needed. Great if you only have sports shorts or similar on.

I am assured that your “cards” in your phone are safer than your physical cards and preferred by banks. You lose a physical card and anyone can use for a while for keyless transactions where a pin is not required.

Been using it for years. All my store cards on it as well. I’ve just counted and I currently have 23 cards on it!

I also belong to Airtime rewards through O2 so when I’m at home I usually have M&S, and Sainsbury’s vouchers in there as well , not to mention boarding cards and the like.

I wouldn’t leave the house without my watch on, it’s unthinkable having spent my life taking peoples’ pulses. It would be like going out naked and that’s not my thing.

I use Google pay, which of course works in the same way.

I bank with Nationwide and one big advantage I found last year was when I lost my wallet with my debit card and credit card in I could lock both cards in the app. and report them lost but the debit card continued to work in Google pay. As a result I still had the means to pay for stuff and when I got home my new cards were waiting for me.

When my new card was issued it updated automatically in Google Pay.

I believe they do the same with Apple but I don't know if all banks do this.

Have been hesitant so far to use Apple Pay, but will reconsider.

Do you still get full Section 75 protection? I do not think you do when using PayPal for example.

As far as I know yes, because the source of the funding remains your card. Apple/Google pay are just a vehicle for the transaction.

Confirmed here.

From here.
