Hello - could anybody please advise on the correct APN Settings for Tesco Mobile SIM in a Haewei 535-333 Router?
I have reached out to Tesco but haven’t had any success
I have tried the following but the performance is so poor I’m sure Ive got something wrong

Name: Tesco Internet
APN: prepay.tesco-mobile.com

Tesco don't support use of their sims in routers. Buried somewhere in their terms and conditions. I never got mine to work in a Huwai thingy and now use Smarty. Some do get away with it.

As above Tesco sims can only be used in mobile devices not home or office routers.

I understand however the Haewei 535-333 is really a 12 volt mobile router
I can only tell you what it says in Tesco t&c's, Amazon describe them as a home or office router so i suppose Tesco do to? If you intend to use it in the motorhome you may need a stabilised 12v supply, I have a 12v router (on an EE sim) and it won't work off the leisure batteries if they are over about 12.5 volts, I had to buy a stabilised power source.

Thanks for this - my bright idea doesn’t appear to have worked, now need to find another unlimited SIM that will work in a router - my RWG one works fine but it’s only 200GB

I have the same issue.

3 sim works in home router but Tesco one does not. No matter what I have tried. It did work for the first few weeks then suddenly stopped and I can’t get it to work again.

But both work ok in my portable MiFi (Huiwai5577). Had to change the APN for the Tesco sim to work though.

Smarty unlimited phone sim works in a Huawei B535 , that’s what I’m using now
You can get it for £16 per month if you search but not good for roaming as only 12gb, that’s why I swap to RWG phone sim when I travel abroad.

Sounds good - what’s the coverage like in the UK please?

It works on three network and I’ve found it ok, a bit slow in Suffolk but I think most are like that and it’s only monthly so easy to cancel

Also you can suspend the sim for up to 6 months, that what I did when I swapped to the RWG sim and then just restarted the deal again.

I have an EE unlimited sim in mine and a Tesco unlimited sim in my Huawei mifi, EE do various unlimited sim deals, the cheaper deals have restricted speeds, I have fastest available and am currently getting 84 Mbs down and 23 up in St Leonards Dorset, EE has better coverage then most others but some locations work better on the Tesco sim, currently the Tesco sim is giving me 5.03 down and 4.11 up in the same location. Many things can effect the speeds you get, location, weather, network traffic all contribute to performance which is why I have two devices on different networks.

Thanks to everybody for the replies over the Tesco SIM - really disappointed as I thought I had found the solution to data for streaming films/ football etc through my MoHo router - cancelled the Tesco SIM - Fair play to Tesco it was really easy to do this - RWG ought to take some lessons from Tesco customer service
now taking a look at the IQ Go which looks good at £20 / year with data at £20/100Gb - advantages for me is no monthly payment unless your using it and it might compliment my existing RWG SIM

cancelled the Tesco SIM
If your budget allows and you tour in the EU it is worth keeping the Tesco sim, as far as I'm aware they are the only ones who allow you all your data even on an unlimited contract in the EU at no extra charge subject to fair usage of two months in every four, however I spent two and a half months away last year and I know of other forum members who have done three months with no issues, you must use it in the UK as well though. Buy yourself a cheap mifi device and stick it in there, you will then have a backup for your router and will not have to worry when abroad, I use my mifi to get traffic data whist driving in the UK and if i'm in a EE blind spot when on site.
