Ive got an Iveco daily van and there is a small but constant leak at the seams of the metal roof, at one spot. Ive tried using sikaflex which reduced but did not stop it ,I was thinking of taking off the rubber cover stripping back any sikaflex and using the "motorhome liquid roof" product, at about £35 a tin, anyone used it ? anygood ? Thanks in advance

For starters I would give the roof a really good cleaning and then you could try and seal the leak again with captain tolleys creeping crack cure which is very good.

Try EBay.

Never used the Motorhome version but I have used the epdm black version. Paints on without problem and sets like rubber. Sealed my leaks in the summer house and shed.

I've used Captain Tolleys on a boat and it does work and it does creep into cracks.
However , be careful about squirting it in at one point and it coming out somewhere else.
It is clear and you will not see it.
Then it cures and you will find it difficult to remove.
Just keep an eye out and mop any escaped solution up immediately.

How do I know.............................

A much cheaper version of the same thing is tanking paint, used to seal ponds and swimming pools. once dry can be overpainted

The biggest problem to sorting out this problem is the dreadful weather, since I got the van in early march it has been constant cold damp and rain, the 4 hot days I was at work, sods law. Ive got 3 days off from tomorrow and forecast is the same. f it ever does get warm what tanking paint ? I just googled it and coun'ld see anything cheap, well less the stuff for motorhome at about £34 a tin

Personally I'd want it fixed right the first time and, seeing that it's not a pool and submersed in water, but a vehicle roof that will be subjected to a vide variety of heat extremes, expansion etc, I'd spend the extra cash and go with the Captain Tolleys application. After all it's designed specifically for the job.
