Having a strange issue where If I switch to side lights, the lights flash on the front (as well as the dash) and then it go's out. Cycle a little further to dipped beams, and it does the same.

I think it's something in the stalk end, as if I indicate, the lights will stay on. So it's maybe something to do with the loom inside it.

I have never investigated an issue of this nature, so wondered if anyone else has. It's obviously not the fuse, as the lights do work.

My Renault had a similar problem, took it off and appears to be a sealed unit. Checked Renault for replacement and it was mega bucks, looked on ebay and I think less than £20, not oem but worked. Fitted a couple of years ago and still working. Might be worth a punt if yours is sealed also?

Thanks for that. I didnt realise they were potentially sealed. But if thats the case, I will try my luck with an Ebay one also.

Can you squeeze a small screwdriver into the seam then blast some contact cleaner in?
Potentially yes, I havnt started to look into more closely yet, as I had no idea what I'm doing. But Given it may be sealed, and just getting a non OEM part may be the best route, Ill maybe give that a go first.

Hi all, just a quick update, as it been a while. More so for anyone that has the same problem. i bought a non OEM Indicator assembly, and it worked. (Sort of). Basically swapped it out, and then checked. All good. Didnt check the wipers untill it was all restored. My mistake. And the wipers would not return to home position. Then I took it all apart, and had both units, new and old onto the wiring looms, and it worked. So I then swapped the PCP board from the old unit, and put it in the new unit. Working.

So basicaly, although i didnt have a problem with the wiper side. The new ebay unit I got, had a dodgy PCB. Between the two units, I managed to get it working and saved a good few £££ from going to garage. Mechanical contact failure pn the old unit, and bad PCB on the new.
