Anyone got a Vangaurdian alarm

Have a look at the video from an earlier post. It looks good, but I was wondering from anyone who has actually got one, how good! Especially as the price seems to have shot up!

Browsing online I saw it offered at a cheaper price. It was advertised as Vangaurdian, but on closer inspection, the logo was slightly different, so maybe a rio off😠

Discounts were available,
this guy:
indicates a code of: COTT-10 @7:39

Good spot - just did a dummy order & that COTT-10 works giving 10% discount - handy for anyone who wants this.
d95gas you may like this if you want to buy soon.

I suspect alarm systems, like a lot of things, you get what you pay for.

A £300 Vanguard system is not going to have the same features or level of security that a VanBiz Grower has at three(?) times the cost.

It depends what your pride and joy is worth to you.
You don't buy a £300 alarm on a van worth over £30k. (0.01%!)

That said, even a £300 deterrent is a lot better than no deterrent at all.
Why have an alarm that you can use parked on a road, or a car park, or use in an Aire?

Ironically the places that most opportunistic, spur on the moment theft takes place🙄

Wyou wouldn’t get a minutes sleep panicking every time a badger or fox wanders by on quiet Aires, and other people legitimately walking past you motorhome in an Aire

Also, if a kid or group of kids realise that a vehicle has a proximity alarm, and every time they approach the vehicle they get an amusing response, they have a whale of a time.

I wrote years ago about sitting outside a pub in Mevagissy and a BMW had a proximity alarm with a stern “stand back” warning which alienated a drunk who responded by stoving the car door in!

However you can buy stick on proximity battery operated devices online for next to nothing if you want to risk it

Yes, will do. Bit late even for a cheeky email. They already took the money. But it was still cheaper than anything I could get here, so I'm happy for now. Let's see how it performs.
