Anyone fancy a real overland adventure but not got the vehicle?

Like the way they say “2 x50gallon tanks to get you out of the woods“, yes but may not get much further with the 6 ltr gas gussler 🤪🤪

Or this, Lightweight carbon fibre monocoque body, carbon fuel tanks, carbon water tanks etc etc.

You don't need a vehicle like that to have an adventure. Two friends of mine drove a Hillman Imp from Joburg to Coventry
. I've driven to Mongolia twice, once in a Suzuki SJ410 and then 3 years later in a Transit.

Saw this brute at Tournus back in the summer. Swiss registered. Wonder if he really climbed the Alps with it.

One of my Landrovers did 15 -18 mpg and was considerably cheaper for parts. You could fix most things on a my Landrovers with fairly basic tools. I believe Unimogs are not easy to maintain and are Merc prices for bits.

A work colleague is currently building a Unimog 7.5t before he retires. He’s moved to a 4 day week so we can work on his project the other 3 days, recons the total budget will around 300k once he’s done. He’s using and making himself a carbon internal bulkhead and bonnet. Going to up to see it in the new year to see where he’s up to but i think he plans 2 more years on it….

Maybe not. It's for sale in UK for about £450000

And this is the original sale video

3yrs old and it's already done 68,000mls, hardly believable? Someone must have a lot of money for fuel?

I’ll stick to my Land Rover 130 which I’m in the middle of converting thanks.
