Anyone caught in the Spanish snow ?

We just made it out in time. We're heading from San Sebastian to Salamanca yesterday but decided to take a detour to the east coast. On Route there were a few vehicles being dug out. Now just outside Valencia and clear but very cold. Watching the news it is bad around Madrid.

Ciao

I had a great drive from cascais in Portugal to Salamanca as it was dry and warm yesterday. Got to Salamanca to see the snow had mostly cleared and it’s -3 last night. Campsite reception told me there’s a privately owned motorway around madrid and it hadn’t been cleared.
She said more snow forecast for here today so about to set off for Bilbao , just got to check weather.

Oh hell ... we were hoping to go to Spain in mid/late February for a little bit of warmth ... :( ... if I tell hubby he'll want to wait until March/April! o_O

Arrived in Bilbao now. It’s 8 degrees here and rainy but in Burgos today it was 1degree brrrr.
Roads were fine though.

Geordie Billy got caught in that snow...

Had to drive for 13 hours in one go to reach Cacares.

The things that man will do to deliver me a ride-on mower engine.

JJ

We're off for a week in Calpe on Thursday, hope it's warme then.

Drove today from Pamplona to Burgos then Madrid and Granada all clear A1...(y)

Over nighting here in Bayonne, France and then driving down towards Valencia via Pamplona tomorrow.. any comments on snow and road conditions would be of great help please.

We had a lucky escape. Went into a fuel station before Pamplona on Sunday to find the forecourt covered in cars. An 18 tonner had got stuck in about 18" snow and blocked the exit. We thought we were going to be there for the night. Fortunately several blokes with shovels dug it out and managed to get it out of the way. Phew.

Did that trip yesterday, you’ll be fine if it doesn’t snow again today.....(y)

We did it too two days ago when the snow started and that route is fine. Stopping at Aragon after San Sebastian. We are near Valencia now with sunburn! We are Scottish tho.
