Anyone been to Livigno?

Has anyone ever been to Livigno in Italy for a ski holiday, if so what did you think?

Hi - yes we have been about 20 years ago on a package holiday -not with the van
Good for intermediates - very long sprawling village which cuts the two areas in half -
Good value resort and we would go back again.

about the campsites - which seem good value and similar prices - also I think there is info within that forum

Not skiing but been there twice. Cheap fuel and within reach of lots of resorts.there's a great tunnel which really needs a fun sticker on the traffic light.

We were there about five years ago and enjoyed it. Good for intermediates. We were half board and had bloody panna cotta every night for desert, other than that, I would go again and the tunnel is impressive

Good for average skiers. Nice place but too much pasta !

What's the score with the tunnel, is it always open or does it shut at certain times?
Better not have any pasta or pannacotta before we go!!

Not been to Livigno but back 2 weeks ago from canazei in the Dolomites. Great skiing for all levels as if poor snow fall for a few days the snow cannons make it. Massive area for skiing too. There is a fabulous campsite in the centre of town, 5 mins walk from the main gondola called camping marmolada http://www.campingmarmolada.com/en/. The town of canazei has various shops, supermarket, spar shop, selection of bars and good restaurants all within easy walking distance of the site. The website shows the pitches as grass but it's all hardstanding. I've some photos on my phone so I'll add them in a minute.

Hi Wensco, we ski in Livigno every year usually twice a year and until now have flown. However, we may go in the moho in the future as we are new to this! Love Livigno, the skiing, the people and the food its fantastic...

Was there last year. Stayed at Camping Piemont. Excellent. The resort is extremely lively and great for apres ski.
