This forum seems a little quiet! But i'm sure some of you know.

Planning a loop of Denmark/Norway/Sweden/Finland/Estonia/Latvia, and Lithuania, then Poland/Germany home.
Mainly a road trip as its such a long way but looking for gems along the route and any key info for things like tolls etc

(Van is 3.5t mgw, so "light" vehicle)

We've been to Denmark/Norway/Sweden before but not the baltics.

Thanks!

Hill of Crosses and the Cold War site for nuclear missiles, both in Lithuania. All capitals nice and compact and worth visiting. We spent five weeks touring there before COVID, May/June and really enjoyed it. Poor roads in places but no worse than some of our roads. We found all prices reasonable. We overnighted at many of the sites we visited free of charge with no problems.

Do you mean https://maps.app.goo.gl/B9dSoR9RBvmWvjAG9 ?
We've visited Riga for a weekend and loved it, but thats our only experience.

Thanks for info :)

(guide books on order, so early doors, but added the above two to our map. )

I can't add much that isn't in my posts in this section already but I loved Latvia and particularly Estonia. Download their forestry app if you like walking/cycling/quadbiking trails.

Recommend stopping at this little campsite not far from Tallinn, it is such a peaceful little place and the owner is a really talented artist and sculptor. Bits of his work scattered around the site.

Plenty history all over the place and just a really good country to drive around. Have a read of the other posts here or feel free to ask me any questions about anything else you may want to know.

Is "overnight parking" permitted? Looked at P4N/S4S/Archies and its quite baron!

When we travelled before COVID we free camped for about a third of the time there. Often stopping on car parks at sites we visited, we always asked and were never refused.
Prior to going we wrote to their UK embassies asking for tourist/camping information and received lots of useful literature.

Thats a good idea :)

There are more spaces than first thought - I had my filter to only high scores. Oops. So seems to be plenty just not high scoring lol

Yeah there wasn't any problems finding parking spaces. Your main problem will be finding services. I usually booked in to a campsite whenever I needed them. I got decent parking for Parnu, Narva and Tartu.

I've parked in Tallinn a few times and have always used the paid parking right at the harbour. (it's a busy ferry terminal). Great location but there are free park ups a bit further away.

When are you planning going? I'm presuming nearer summer so it's worth trying to plan in Tallinn with their Maritime Festival which looks to be on 11-13th August this year.

This is a very interesting, highly contentious and seriously depressing visit in Vilnius.

Bungee jumping and Olympic bobsleigh run in Sigulda Latvia where you can catch a train into Riga.

The hill of crosses is different. A brilliant two fingers salute to the then Communist regime in Lithuania
