Absolute beginners.
Hello, as in the title, is anybody using these cheap OBD scanners ?
<Broken link removed>
It seems you can buy cheap ones and peoples reviews tilt between, absolute rubbish, to brilliant bit of kit.
But,having checked out more expensive ones, the same is true 🤷‍♂️
It's for use on the ubiquitous Fiat Ducato 2.3. 130 version.

This is the one I bought, was £35….

OBD2 Scanner Auptohix OM126 EOBD OBD11

I’ve used it once…..but useful to have ‘just in case’…….

For a niggle fault on then Skoda

£20 found a cleared old fault .keep it in the car just in case when mates aren't on the borrow 😉

Just looked noe £23

Meant to say used it on my fiat ducato 2.8 just to see if it was suitable for anything outside the van group .
It read it OK but found no faults ,so maybe a good thing.
Bonus was I found the tracker with giffgaf sim tha Richard W (RIP)had left in there
Look at this on eBay

These 'cheap' readers will probably show you fault codes and reset some, but will not work on the more complicated systems, such as suspension, dpf, anti-lock etc.
For that you need something recommended for Fiat/Peugeot and will cost a lot more.

I've got a cheapo one similar to that from eBay. It works fine on my Renault Master, but won't read my Volvo.

Absolutely Agree, i have a standalone Autel machine that was £28 and lives in van haven't used it for 3 years. If you have an android phone i would reccommend an expensive Vgate icar BLE4 bluetooth Device £25 and AlfaOBD. (currently £31) then covered for all aspects of Ducatos, even able to do a proxi alignment on a new Airbag SRS module (no need to send to crashdata for cloning). Dont buy a cheap £1o device very limmited. If you really want to push the boat out Torque pro wont even cost a fiver (after Alfa). I have 2 one permamently attached to van and second in pocket for other cars.
