Any Tips For The Driver?

I thought so too. I wonder if it was a stolen vehicle being chased. How else could someone be that stupid. Maybe one less driver that shouldn't be on the road.
Being chased by what? A lawnmower?

Wow, this is why I invested in a dedicated MoHo sat nav, but still worry about low bridges and narrow windy roads.

Oh stupidity at this level exists!

I nearly came a cropper in my early days trying to get to Rowntree site in York...

The subsequent embarrassing 13 point turn amused the passing pedestrians & held up a couple of cars.
I was flustered when I eventually found my way to the site.
There is a big triangle warning sign on the right telling you the height of the bridge.
It's to the right of the 13 foot sign for the foot bridge.

Looks like an underpass rather than a road,a bit low for some cars also.what a waste of a Van.

Yes, I thought an underpass / pedestrian walkway / cycle route and not a road.

In theory I could get under there but not sure I would chance it
I work on anything under 3m is best avoided

Same here. At 3m I know we have a little room to spare.

According to a Google search looks like it happened in Poland
The .pl on the bottom of the photo is also a clue :)

"On Thursday afternoon, the tunnel under Niestachowska Street wanted to beat the driver of the camper van. Unfortunately, he did not take into account the height of his vehicle, and the effect can be seen in the photo."

It does look from the map that it is indeed an underpass - with a car park at the end with access from a proper road. Perhaps the driver took the cycle route from the car park rather than the real road?

Is it now part of East Bearsden?:boxing:

The Drum is to the South West of Not Glasgow, you obviously didn’t get geography at whatever state school you attended. 🥴

I lived in Bearsden when I first moved to Scotland. I met people from the Drum who described themselves as 'from East Bearsden' ... and Wikipedia describes the Drum as bordering Bearsden to the east. A joke that went 'whoosh' in low flight mode ... (y)

My education was at King Edward VI Grammar School, Stourbridge

I think the people you met were wrong and any eejit can add whatever they like to Wikipedia.

Ah so that’s what’s behind the hob 😀

East Bearsden is Meryhill. :whistle2:
North Windsor - is Slough!
Would you believe the Queen at Windsor Castle has a Sough post code.

As for the low bridge - it just goes to show why we have that big window in the front of our vans - I have found that if you look through it, and try really hard, you can see what is coming and take the correct action to avoid major damage to your bank balance.

I simply can't understand why drivers don't spot this kind of obstacle, but I suppose driving ability varies enormously.
I think people forget they are not in their cars
Someone we know did it at the local supermarket that has parking underneath. Fortunately they got away with a broken skylight

We'll probably never know why he (or she) made the error. For when tugging as well as chugging I've made myself a sign that I attach to the inside on the sunvisor.

We took a new [to us] touring caravan to France and Spain in Nov 19. Stopped at Leclerc Hypermarket at Saint Jean de Luz to get some food and a socket in case of problems with the m/mover, flustered with lots of French wandering across the surface Car Park and crossing access road whilst I was searching for that elusive last car parking space; was just about to give in to my hissy fit and zoom down the ramp to the underground parking when Elaine said calmly, 'You haven't forgotten about the bikes on the car roof, have you?'

Course I had ...

I recall a site in southern France (can't remember where exactly) that had two access roads: one had a low underpass (similar to OP's) and the other avoided the underpass. I reckon he must've been blindly following his satnav. Poor chap, we all make mistakes, but he managed a very expensive one.
Bin there done that. A common event apparently. I didn't destroy the van but had to reverse 150 metres before i could turn around. The french drivers were surprisingly nonchalant about it all. Rouen is the worst place for this.

Agreed! Rouen on my first ever trip to France was where I had to reverse down from a 'No Entry' slip road. Being Saturday lunchtime, with lighter traffic, helped.

A few years ago, we hired an 'RV' in the states and drove Route 66 and other places. One evening we took a turn off the main road to find a place to park up. The road was a 'Wash board' track, just wide enough for the vehicle. After about three miles it was clear we had got it wrong, and had to go back. It was getting dark. No where to turn round so........ a very long reverse in a 10 metre wagon was the only way. After a good long time, we found a place to do a 30 point turn and headed back to the main road. After a short time we found a place to stop. The night was dark other than a glow in the night sky to the west - Las Vagas.
What did we learn, life is an adventure - when things don't go to plan, they just become stories you retell years later.

What made it even more of a bad day was that it was only 30 minutes earlier that he'd been pulled out of the sea by a tractor!
:ROFLMAO:

Going back to the original image, is this a photoshop? Looking at the wheel base, its not a 6 wheeler. I would like to see what the vehicle looks like when its not demolished!

Now if you look closely at what Wiki says it (Drumchapel) borders Not Glasgow to the east which means Not Glasgow is to the east of the Drum. (y) It's actually north east but hey ho.
A poll in Not Glasgow to rename themselves North East Drum after the scheme was built was rejected by Glasgow as we didn't want their sort associated with us!:whistle2::giggle:
