We are travelling mid February from Calais to Perpignan, never done it before , Any suggestions for a route would be appreciated either Motorway or other ,or a bit of both, and any idea of costs , we are travelling in a 3.5 tonne. Thanks

Agree with that suggestion of going via Millau Viaduct. Be aware the A75 autoroute thereabouts climbs quite high, so may be snow on the side of the road (we've seen it there in late May!), but the motorway should be fine because the authorities will treat it and keep it open.I would go via the Millau Viaduct it’s a lovely route![]()

Further north, I'd avoid Paris, staying to the west via Rouen, keeping on the east side of the river.
So this is the way I'd go.
