We are travelling mid February from Calais to Perpignan, never done it before , Any suggestions for a route would be appreciated either Motorway or other ,or a bit of both, and any idea of costs , we are travelling in a 3.5 tonne. Thanks

I would go via the Millau Viaduct it’s a lovely route👍😊
Agree with that suggestion of going via Millau Viaduct. Be aware the A75 autoroute thereabouts climbs quite high, so may be snow on the side of the road (we've seen it there in late May!), but the motorway should be fine because the authorities will treat it and keep it open.

Further north, I'd avoid Paris, staying to the west via Rouen, keeping on the east side of the river.

So this is the way I'd go.

I'd second this route & have used it in the past.

We use the same route, but if going to Spain get on the N10 route.

In Rouen there is an ikea on route, which does a nice breakfast (for the price) and as many coffees as you like for a Euro each. Also supermarket and fuel in the same outlet area.
