Hello Funsters, I have a 2005 N&B Arto. The original stereo was a Blaupunkt but was not very good so I replaced it with a Sony in 2007, at the time it was very modern and I have had many good years using the system. Unfortunately it has given up the ghost and I was looking for a decently priced replacement, preferably with Apple CarPlay. I was looking at the Pioneer SPH-10BT (looks pretty good and ticks lots of boxes) and would like to know if someone has installed one and, if so, their thoughts on it. Also if anyone has their personal recommendations I would really like to hear them. I think that driving for 1000's of miles and hundreds of hours behind the wheel, listening to a decent sound system (music or spoken word) is a must!

Don't have one but heard some say the parasitic drain on the Panasonics can be quite high.

I have recently installed a new Pioneer headset in my Mercedes Sorinter based Motorhome.
I bought it from Dynamic Sounds via eBay.
Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB 6.8” Screen CarPlay Android Auto DAB+ Bluetooth + Aerial
Full Apple play and DAB radio, a local installer fitted it adding a mic for voice control and linked it to the steering wheel volume controls.
It’s an excellent piece of kit and not really expensive. A vast improvement over the Merc original. I would highly recommend.
The installer said he considers the Pioneer the best of the bunch.

I've put Sony XAVs in my vans. They tend to be light on features, but it makes them less complicated to use. Most of the time I'm using Android Auto or Bluetooth anyway. I've currently got the AX8050d. Nice big screen for easy glancing of the map.

i removed a £1400 pioneer unit from my van as it was the worse most unreliable headunit I’ve ever had. Absolutely poo. Now fitted a Kenwood. Far superior. And far cheaper.

My daughter had a Pioneer fitted to her Ford KA ..it's pants

The one you point to as far as I can tell doesn't have Apple Car Play..

It connects with Bluetooth which will play music , Spotify etc , but won't connect to the Apple apps on the iphone, such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc (assuming you have an iPhone?) which use a USB data port

it does have a usb port (same as as my daughters ) but I think that is just for charging the phone..not connecting the Apple apps.

I may be wrong, but check that before buying..

It's cheap enough but you could get better

Great! Same here… 2003 Arto with Ducato cad from that era - I’d be looking for Car Play, a double din unit and whatever trim piece is required when the bulldog clip bit is no longer needed. Will follow the thread with interest.
