Hola helpful peoples....
Not intending to freeload but ...
We booked an exciting trip to Butser for Beltain [Fire festival !] last November - and paid for parking there as it advertised fields we can use. Emailed in November to make sure no ht barriers - no reply- but asked again yesterday and reply was No o_O as they can only have vehicles under 5 m long.
The nearest campsites are too far away to walk/cycle to it; the event ends at 11 pm ish and so if we park at nearby Queen Elizabeth Park and walk back to van [day parking only ] we won't be able to drive back to any campsites as will be too late to get in ...No pubs nearby seem to do parking for mohos. So possibly looking at wild camping night of 29th April then onto campsite nearby for rest of weekend IF we can get in anywhere as it is a Bank Hol .... sigh something about Mice n Men .....

Hi Kirsten, can park overnight at Port Solent, which is about a 20 minute drive down the A3. No dump or fill there but a safe place to spend the night for free. All you’d need to do is phone the car park manager prior to give your registration number. I have the number if you need it.

How close do you want/need to be ?
I d start with the 5 Bells at Buriton and give them a bell asking for overnighting if you buy a meal.
Seven stars has a good car park (Stroud nr Petersfield) same tactics
If you really want a corker, maybe 10 miles to Colemore for the Pub with No name (White Horse at Colemore) quite famous and own microbrewery and camping area.
We are about 15-20 miles away but both motorhomes wont be here so the cars will be on the flat bit of the drive if you want a slopey night but we have an unknown to anybody wilding spot with motorhomes stopping occasionally and left alone in the village, 200 yards to each of the pubs.
Or if you want to go "Wild" then I ll have a look to see where I used to take the wife for short periods in our courting days !

If you look at the red lion pub chalton village has a very big car park and an overflow area at back, maybe worth giving them a ring.

Depends how close you need to be. Very large lay-by set back from the A3 on the southbound carriageway a couple of hundred yards before QE Country Park. Often see overnighters there. May need ear plugs 😉

That’s what I was going to suggest , good lay bye

Just spotted this one on google maps.
Went into the photos and they have a motorhome by the house and a campsite

Your nearest to the farm is the Red Lion. The car park is a reasonable size although the turn in is a bit tight coming from the farm. Another possibility is the Butser Roundhouse Cafe. GU32 1QR. About three miles from where you leave the A3 for the farm. There is a car park with a pay on exit barrier although when I was up there during the day a couple of months back I didn't get charged.

Thank you all so much... lots of possibles- very very helpful - Knew the Funsters were a font of all knowledge !! xxxx

Sorry for later replies -
Just binged all of Happy Valley but mis timed it slightly now agonising wait until 9.00; then will be lying in darkened room for a while. Onto this tomorrow - again I cant thank you all enough xxxx

Portsdown hill car park or a hundred mtrs further up opposite the Churchillian pub are both free, there is a late night burger van at the car park if you're hungry, but opposite the Churchillian is quieter once the pub shuts.

Always busy whenever I go bye.
Mick has done well for himself as he started with 1 van parked up in the garage by Hayling bridge in the 80s
Was our munches stop back early morning after leaving the nightclub on the island😁😁
