We went to view some Motorhomes yesterday and were quite taking a likening to a Benimar. I have looked on the website and I really like the look of them especially the Mileo 295 as it has the garage. We are going to Brittany on Tuesday so we will visit a few dealers there. Would love to hear from anyone that owns one already to see how you find them.
I am hoping to buy one within next 12 months. Getting very excited!

Hi Poppy ,we have the 294 not sure they sell the 295 over here so don’t know the exact lay out but looks very similar to ours . We love the large bedroom and bathroom, the kitchen is an adequate size for us two . The lounge is a bit tight for space but we tend to sit out side if the weathers ok some will find it a bit small if the weather inclement . The build quality is pretty good in my opinion we did have a problem with a cracked shower tray but was eventually sorted under warranty . I don’t think unless we win the lotto we will change it so if you did buy it I think you will be buying a pretty good motorhome .

Thank you, good feedback, I guess we need to get inside a few. We like the garage as that would be really useful. Hopefully we can see a few more models in France next week, they seem to have a lot of dealerships. I only want to buy once so need to get it right. Would love to buy new but we shall see what happens.

Howard, do you know if it would be possible to carry a small scooter on the back of the Mileo 294?

Poppy, the Benimar 294 has an advertised payload of 260kg (if the MTPLM is registered at 3500kg) so after a few weight adjustments and added kit then you would be lucky to have enough payload left to add a person to the front passenger seat, never mind a scooter. (Note: A 100kg scooter on most vans will consume up to
200kg of any payload once you consider a mounting system and the fulcrum effect).

Have you read Jim's outstanding guide on purchasing a motorhome as it may help you massively in terms of you determining your motorhome priorities.

The selection of a motorhome is not an easy task so don't worry if it seems tough at this early stage.

All the best,

Andrew

We had a look at one a little while ago when back in the UK. The payload stated was less than 300kg which quite frankly is pathetic. There is no way you could put a scooter on the back of that!

No the garage although full width it is quite low so impossible to get a scooter in you would find it hard to get push bikes in .

3650 kg but never taken it to a weigh Bridge I suspect it will be very near the limit.

Me too, you may already be a good chunk over Howard. Good luck,

Andrew

Thank you for the help. I am now looking at the Benimar 346 which has more room and we are now thinking we will put the scooter on a trailer so as not to worry about payloads. So much to consider!!!
