Another toilet question.

I read it on here (a ‘seal’ thread), about two years ago. Which is why I bought some silicone grease, which works a treat 😀. I have just tried googling it, but there are mixed results.
Does it help hemorrhoids then

We use a SOG thus do not need to use any chemicals, except the occasional spray with a "Pink" rinse around the bowl. When emptying It usually takes two rinses to get rid of all the solids. Apparently you should not shake the cassette to violently as you may damage or dislodge the internal level float mechanism.
Yep, mine went about 1000 sloshes ago, now I use the peekaboo system to see when it needs emptying 👍🏻

Been using vasoline for 7 years and my seal still works perfectly. But can no longer recommend using it as it may invalidate your warranty. ;-(

At the disposal point last week when emptying, a bloke asked me I why put the cap all the way down on the floor when I could just put it on the side wall.......... You live and learn!

Why do people wash their cassette out?
Just stood in a poo queue at Stratford and everyone washed it out, some quite meticulously, and I think why, your only going to fill again.
Have I missed something? Can you get twice as much in next time if you wash it out? :ROFLMAO:
I just bin mine.

Urine diverting!

Currently using Aires in France and the last two times dumping there was no water to rinse. The last dump water was available and I was very surprised how much solid matter came out on rinsing after the initial fluid dump had finished. The moral to this storey is, I guess, rinse when you can but don’t be too meticulous about it

In this situation, I use my grey waste to rinse the cassette.

Toilet threads. Don't you just love 'em.

And for what it is worth, I always flush mine out with clean water. Seems like basic maintenance to me.

I am meticulous about rinsing out cassette. Call it OCD if you like. It’s so clean that before screwing the orange cap back on I sometimes fill it up with water and do the ‘taste’ test. There’s clean for you!!

Do you put it in the dishwasher just so it's clean round the bend !

I just put some water back in it after emptying. Swish it about and pour.
sometimes somethings get stuck inside and need an additional flush.

then when empty put in the toilet fluid and jobs done. Or as billy connolly would say Jobby done 😝

apart from a very good hand washing after re fitting the cassette.
I am a swisher out to ensure it is reasonably clear of waste but only ever run a rag for the purpose on the outside. Some of our brethren/ sixteen take such things to extreme levels, but please be aware of of other patrons who have a life to live other than queuing behind them

Less likely to get accidentally knocked off the floor than the wall. Just sayin....

Why not just use your grey water to rinse it's usually soapy-ish water after all.

Whilst we are talking toilets . What’s the recommended routine to maintain the drop trap to stop leaks onto the cassette - any top tips to maintain that perfect seal ?
i always swill it out then spay the seal on the cassette and under the loo with thetford seal lubricant, it prevents the seals from perishing

Could be worse......... at least you don't have a que of folk at the hand driers...............
