I will add a how to once the van comes back tomorrow but in the meantime does anyone know where the split charge relay might be on a 2015 Elddis Majestic 175 please?

I may be wrong, but if its got a Schaudt Elektroblock then the Elektroblock is it. You just attach the Battery Master to the Engine, Habitación and Earth terminals on the back of it.

If it is a Sargent PSU that is fitted I think you will find that the split charging system is built into it.
Thanks - I’ll have a look, not sure what’s in there as yet, sounds like it could be an all in one unit or a combination of things… I would have thought that keeping it simple would be a better option

The reason people say connect the BatteryMaster to the split charge relay terminals is that is a convenient place for a wire to the starter battery, leisure battery and earth. However if the split charge relay is built into the distribution/fusebox, then that is also a convenient place for the three wires.

All done and installed - no split charge relay on this van, at least not that I could find so it was installed at the distribution box. Followed the wiring diagram for the cable colours and chopped the cables, ferrules fitted and joined again with the battery master in circuit. Simple enough, tested by switching the ignition on and the led turned red to indicate charging. Happy days

What are you trying to achieve?

A Split Charge relay is fitted to charge the leisure battery from the alternator when the engine is running.

A Battery Master charges the VEHICLE battery from the leisure battery that is being charged by Solar or EHU.

Yes, I thought that test wasn't right, at first. However I think by 'switching the ignition on' that's exactly what he meant, not starting the engine. Switching the ignition on, especially if other devices like the fans come on, will cause a drain on the starter battery, and its voltage will drop. That will be enough to turn on the Batterymaster, so the LED will go from green to red.

Bingo - thus reducing voltage to the starting battery means the battery master begins to work and the indication is the green led turning red. I used the ignition without engine for that test.
