Maybe you are taking a brand new fifty quid device to act as a 350 quid bit of Victron kit???

Our world is full of devices where we only use maybe single functions!

No you still need the victron kit. That is why I am confused?

Interesting but it looks like it is only replacing the screen, you still need the expensive Gx.

I read through the comments looking for using it on a RasPi and found one person with it setup and working on a RasPi, so I think I will have a play with it to see if it is the case. (y)

I don't get it; you got the GX on LAN and this is a screen on LAN, my phone does remote console on LAN as it is?
Am I missing something?

Nope! Presumably they've had some demand, or why put the resources on it?

I was a little surprised they've done it, but I guess if you have an old spare tablet/phone (I do - Both) and want a permanent remote display without running a long HDMI cable it may be a handy option.

As I mentioned in the other thread. The kiosk mode works great on a Ras-Pi-2 with an old phone with Android 9 on it. So if you have an old phone in the drawer why not re-purpose it. It wouldn’t work on an old Android 6 phone or some old tablets like the Tesco Huddle though. So it seems to be limited at the point they introduced the QR code reader into the OS. But I didn’t preserver much with the old devices.
The great thing about it is that it is a permanent display without the bar at the top. I have one on my dash so I can see charging while driving and I will look for another old phone maybe in the CEX shop to mount above the door. If anybody has an old Android 9 phone in a drawer that they don’t want I would be happy to re-purpose it for them.x:-)
I think it great that Victron are embracing this and not building it to exclude the GX’s on the Pi. After all it does encourage us to buy their kit. It would be great if Fogstar would introduce some way of looking at their batteries via the Victron system. But then Victron also do Lithium Batteries.
Has anybody found a way of not overcharging a phone that is permanently powered on a 12 volt system.
Merry Christmas :xlaugh::xlaugh::xlaugh:

Could use a small timer I guess?

Fogstar Drift Pro can connect to the Victron system Via VE.Can and show data derived from the Fogstar BMS through Venus OS.

Thank you for that.

I have an old phone I'm going to repurpose to do this.
