Hi All, on a whim we decided to visit my relatives in the Netherlands prior to going back home. Some of them are in Amsterdam and, although I have been there many times, we have never brought the Moho.

Having visited some relatives in the south, we are planning to go to Amsterdam tomorrow through to Monday. There appears to be conflicting information on whether we can enter the low emission zone; some websites say Euro 4 and under is okay, another says a Moho has to be 3 and under. Any ideas which is accurate?

Also, given the impromptu decision and lack of planning there are no sites available and no obvious parking up places outside of the emission zone: I have been looking on both the park4night and search for sites apps. Can anyone recommend anywhere please? I understand the police are quite anti-overnighting in public streets!

I can't remember the detail but the official city campsite site has all the info on emissions ratings.
You might manage to park the van somewhere unpretty, especially if not sleeping in it. But it would be a risk. Park and ride seems better, we found NL did have places on P4N that worked, despite the official ban, but we didn't try it in a town. Locals seem rebellious enough not to care.
Plenty of small cheap campsites, farm or "nature" sites have something like a €18 max, also marinas. You just need one walking or cycling distance from a train.

Just a thought but wouldn’t your relatives know ?

Good question. It appears the rules might be different for cars re the emission zone and they are not Motorhomers.I guess they have had to look it up too. With regard to parking, all they could say was that the police are quite hot on moving campers on if not using a site.

Surely you mean Euro 4 and over, and Euro 3 and over.

Surely there's an Amsterdam tourist office you can call or website where you can get information?

Hi All, decided to abandon trying to stay closer to the city in favour of place with good transport links (which might have a pitch at short notice). Found this place - great for access to Amsterdam!
