Hi know this is a long shot but we have a problem with our brake lights! The brakes work, the bulbs are good, the fuses are whole but no brake lights. Our pal and engineer Steve at MOBILE RV has been brilliant as always but he is in Bicester and we are near Norwich and we cannot find the switch that apparently exists somewhere on our Damon Escaper! As per Steve’s advice it has been looked for under the pedal under ‘the bonnet’ no luck! But underneath the RV under where the brake pedal is kind of above you there is a mechanism with air pipes/wires etc but not sure is this is it! Or if part of it is it! Or what it does even. Help! Anything would be appreciated we are at our wits end. Merry Christmas everyone 😊🎄❄️🌲🎅🤶

Might be worth posting on www.rvoc.co.uk a forum specific to RVs if you haven’t already . Surprised Steve can’t help further.
Maybe a specific fuse somewhere but from my experience RVs are notorious for them to be anywhere.
Good luck

The switch will be a plunger type, not a lever switch.
Similar thing to the courtesy light door switch on your car.
It should be around the brake pedal.
Something like this....

Do other lights work ok? If yes this will rule out a bad earth.
Have you tried changing the bulbs - may look good but?

Does it have air operated brakes as some do? If so that is it. If unsure try linking the switch connecter out with just the ignition on

Steve told us where to look but we hadn’t had any luck until Nick and his pal got underneath today and found this. All fuses fine. We are at wits end with it! Never mind get tomorrow out of the way then crack on with it again

Inadvertently erased the picture could you send again. We have a different pedal though as air system

Do you have exhaust brake as usually the brake lights will come on with the exhaust brake as well as with the foot brake . This would be a way of proving the circuit. I also think as you have airbrake system it will be a pressure switch that activates the brake lights not a pedal switch . This could be located near the footvalve under the floor . adi4 on RVOC can probably give you exact location .

Go on RVOC.co.uk someone on their will likely help you.
My RV is a workhorse with hydraulic brakes so probably completely different setup for brake lights.

On some American stuff they have a pressure switch on the master cylinder.

They are a known weak point too often failing

your probably looking for something like this screwed into a brake line if you find it shorting the two wires will make the circuit and you lights will come on if the fault is in the switch alterantly use a meter on ohms on the switch and press the brakes to see it it makes the circuit
