My inverter arrived yesterday and today I installed it, I connected all the cables and tested the straight through 240 volts, all good then I tried to run power from the inverter switched it on and nothing.☹️
I checked all the wires and found 12 volts at the inverter terminals. That's it it must be faulty, so I went toy PC and set up a return with Amazon, I then bought a new one from Amazon, this time without the £30 discount they offered on Monday.
Now I needed to remove it, that's when I remembered I had disconnected the leisure battery when I was connecting the supply to the inverter.
SO I got on to Amazon and was able to cancel the second one

So how did you get 12v at the inverter if it was disconnected at the leisure battery ?
It was all connected at that end, I disconnected it for safety when I was connecting the other end

Sorry I misunderstood, when I tested at the inverter and found 12 volts it was because I had run the inverter previously and the voltage was from the capacitance in the inverter. When I was training people I used to explain the difference between voltage and power, for this reason, then I forgot it myself

Well I think you are a genius. I can change a plug, but only just!

Mind you,we once lived next to a lady who had 3 degrees (no,stop singing),and she admitted to never having changed a plug. Her degrees were in Electrical Engineering and Electronics.:ROFLMAO:

She most likely had a ‘chap’ to undertake such menial tasks. 😉
