We feed Daisy our Alaskan Shepherd two meals a day, not big but one in the morning and one when we are having our dinner...
And through the day she has little tit-bit`s OR a few treats not many and a Dentu Stick last thing at night to clean her teeth.... she seems to thrive on what she get`s considering she only has one hour to two hour walk a day... Monday to Friday...
Although the vet said she is a little overweight, but very healthy we put it down to lack of exercise...:frowny:

What do you give your little darlings, considering size and make of dog..??? 🐶🐺

Our new English Springer gets fed 3 times a day, basically breakfast, lunch and dinner with some biscuits throughout the day / evening.

Can't remember portion size as his cup is marked and we fill to the line, so I'm as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, Auld Yin!:RollEyes:Best guess is around a hand full. Now is it my hand size, your hand size, ???, so I'm still a waste of space!

We've only had him for around six months and his weight has remained stable at 17.5kgs.

ps this is him.

We are similar. Our “doodle”, get breakfast and early afternoon dinner. Both sensible controlled portions.
Also. He gets 2 (approx) 1 hour walk morning and afternoon followed up by. 30 minute walk around 6pm.
During walks he will receive treats for obedience and good behaviour 😆.

Once a week he gets. Doggy day out, to the beach or large woodlands where is out and about for 3 / 4 hours .

Smooth haired colour / welsh collie 12 years old
About 4 years old we discovered hip displasia and now osteo arthritis
So his exercise is monitored- though he doesn’t monitor himself where squirrels are concerned…
Was 18 kgs for ages
Last year it’s crept right up
He’s fed raw with a few non grain mixers -half a tube at lunchtime ( our lunchtime) he won’t eat that without one of his biscuit treats or a snippet of our meal
Has his supplement with that
Evening six o’clock he has the rest of his tube.
Walks about an hour am 20-30 mins pm
Very hard to cut his food back or increase his exercisebut he’s now 3 kg heavier and that with his hips and joints isn’t good.

New to me hound...
250gms Raw Mince* in the morning
Lunch of biscuits 125gms
Dinner is rest of pack of raw [250gms]
Assorted nibbles & treats... and whatever she steals when my back is turned, this morning it was 3 malted milk biscuits I was going to have with my cuppa

*blocks of mince, 80% meat 10% bone 10% offal

30kg dog gets a large bean tin size of dried dog food each morning and a Boino,a Dentastick at bedtime and either an orange, apple (pips removed) or peeled carrot in the daytime as a treat, weight has not gone up or down in 12 years

Why do you peel the carrot?

My litter terrorist has his main meal at night. For ‘breakfast’ he has a Smacko, a piece of raw carrot and a dry biscuit. During the day if I’ve been out I give him a doggy chocolate drop, but they are so small he thinks he is being hard done to!

Ours used two have 2 meals a day 4x large cupfuls, she has the same amounts but now we divide it up to 3x times a day .
Due to the fact see nearly died due to twisted (bloat ) stomach whilst motorhoming in Switzerland.
But she has dry food and it’s very healthy)
It’s not the best as been told dry food can cause bloat although there’s no real evidence that this was the cause, big chested dog can be prone bloat .
She 2hrs exercise a day, cut down in hot weather though.
A little over weight now , at 67 kg especially for a yourkie . 🤨

Until I got my dog, when I went for a walk, no one ever spoke to me. Now everyone at least smiles to me, some even talk to me. He doesn't eat much, never barks but sits by my side all day long, but it really pi***s me off when campsites charge for dogs :(

These two are fed twice a day, grain free kibble with grain free tinned wet food mixed in, they are quite healthy and we do a minimum of 5 miles a day often up to 10, only problem they have is going into our local everyday, I have to go with them to make sure they are ok. 😂😂

Do the dogs look like their owner, asking for a friend! :giggle:

Pippa, Parsons Russel Terrier, (basically a long legged Jack) has two ‘shapes’ biscuits for breakfast.
1 Gravy bone, a Markie and maybe some other similar biscuit for lunch..
She has 1/2 a tin of Orlando Dog Paté which is followed by 3 slices of Cucumber, 3 slices of Courgette, 3 strips of Red Bell Pepper, and half a baby Sweet corn, and if I have any some slices of Broccoli stalk.
She also has free access to Kibble through the day.
She gets weighed regularly and hovers around the 6.5 to 7 kg.
She is very active and no slouch, gets about 2-3 hours walk most days, off lead and she gallops everywhere!

our Doodle would need a stomache pump if he was allowed uncontrolled acces to food!! he is a right scavenger and will eat anything; plastic wrappers, bird seed, plastic bottle tops, sticks.... and i mean eat not just chew and spit out.

keeps me on my toes when we are out; but fortunately responds well to the " DROP IT" ! command.
but, then wants a treat for being a "good boy "

it didnt take me to long to realise what the game plan was....
🤣
sometimes i wonder who is in control

Well, difficult to say what ours get, in a morning they usually have a share of a couple of meaty strips for breakfast and around 4.30 pm they have either a share of a foil, or tin of dog food, other than that they decide what they eat - in the lounge, kitchen and a bedroom we have bowls/tubs of dried dog food, small biscuits, soft rings (like Frolic) and chunks, softish dried mince (like Mince Morsels) and bran flakes - they simply help themselves to whatever they fancy. When they've been out to do their business they come in and sit by the door waiting for a bit of meaty strip as a reward, woe betide if we forget to give it to them especially Tazzy as we don't half get mucky looks!

Non-dog food wise our Bella loves cooked rice, absolutely adores it, and our Tazzy goes nuts for garden peas, frozen or tinned, so much so that when we have them we have to ensure we put some in a bowl for her to have for supper, unfortunately they can give her a bit of a smelly windy side effect!

I love hearing them having a little nibble at the grub, they're so gentle, never snap although for some reason they'll often take out the smallest piece, walk off, eat it, then return to get another bit and wander off again.

They get a daily 1 hour run round a field and the young-uns tear around our place too, both inside and outside, sometimes Tazzy joins in as well and its chaos!
