So, this has probably been discussed before ( and I did do a search ) but how do I find out what model Alko chassis I have on my 2007 Fiat Ducato based tag axle Burstner Elegance? I want to overhaul the rear axles brakes ( now in the process of front end replacement ) but have no idea how to identify what parts I need?

Our Hymer has 2 VIN plates under the bonnet. One for the cab, Fiat, and the second for the chassis, Alko. The Alko plate has the Fiat VIN on it and at the bottom saying type. Could it be these you are looking for?

Your Burstner will almost certainly be on the Alko Chassis. Burstner often put the Alko Chassis plate either in the door-well or on the outside near to the front somewhere.

I spoke to Alko when we had our 2004 Burstner A747 and was told the braking system was standard Fiat.

Yeah, I have one of those just behind my drivers door. The ZFA number is my chassis number so I guess the bottom number is the Alko chassis number?
That still doesn’t help identify what brake shoes and pads I need.
It may be standard Fiat parts but which model? The “ official “ make is a platform chassis.
If there are two Alko axles you’d think it would be Alko brakes and not Fiat?

Email Alko, normally pretty good at getting back to you.
Give them your plate details.

Well Alko we’re completely useless! Alko chassis with Alko axles you’d like to think they knew what was used! Nope. Or just couldn’t be bothered, who knows.

Try Coastal Motorhomes website, I normally have a good look and then ring them to check. They are really good normally.
