Hi Guys

Can anybody give any opinions, good or bad, for winter rally site Alicante Imperium in Villajoyosa@?

Wanted to get into Almafra but sold out the day it went on the CCC site. Sounds like the site has restricted number of pitches

Nice site, pitches of all sizes, bar, restaurant, good showers and toilet block. 15 minute walk to beach, 10 minutes to supermarket, 10 minutes to tram station takes you too north to Benidorm or south to Alicante. Site is really busy now peaple have discovered it.

Some pitches very sloping so levelling can be a big issue for larger vans. Women’s toilets apparently can be an issue as not enough of them (so I am told no first hand experience)

Superb site. We stayed as we were travelling south and then returned as we were heading home. Found majority of pitches large and flat. Liked the wide avenues for reversing etc. Bar/ restaurant excellent with good value menu. Toilets and showers spotlessly clean and plentiful. Plug in uk tv , take your standard tv lead although they did lend us one for free, just a deposit. Avoid uphill walk to town by crossing road outside site and take back lane directly facing. Sky and BT uk sports in town, also available in bar when open. In my opinion one of the few places i'd stay for the winter. Really enjoyed this site.

Thanks, I did not like El Torres too much, but quite liked Villajoyosa. When we were at El Torres last year a couple had just come from Imperium and said it was not very good so we did not pursue it as an option.

Got to agree with Parrot Face - it's a great campsite with very big pitches.
Take a look at this video and judge for yourself.

Very nice site we will be going in Feb for the 3rd time think i am going on @Mikey RV pitch when he goes (y)

We stayed there for a couple of weeks on the C&CC Rally last March. There is a mixture of pitches, small and large, so both contributors above are correct. The first pitch they put us on (site not C&CC) was small and sloped in both directions, so we were unable to get level or roll out the canopy. The C&CC steward said that pitch had been a 'running sore' all season and advised us to complain. After a couple of days requesting an alternative, we were moved a few pitches closer to the entrance onto a pitch large enough for a 10m unit with an extra couple of cars. Basically, if you look at the video posted above, the pitches to the left of the main entrance road are flat, while some of those on the right are on quite a slope. All pitches have a tap and a drain, though the drain might be above the level of your waste outlet in some cases. Included hook up is limited to 4kWh per day and they can monitor it from reception. You cannot see the consumption yourself.

As soon as a pitch was vacated, staff nipped out and brushed up to prepare it for the next user. There isn't much noise from the recycling centre next door. The toilet block was generally very clean. Bar prices were OK and the food in the restaurant pretty good. The bread service was a disappointment in that it consisted of pre-cooked baguettes heated in the oven in the bar. Nothing much else for sale when we were there.

The stewards for 2019 at the C&CC Rally will not be the same couple who ran it in 2018, so our experience of their style of 'stewarding' isn't relevant.

We would go back but have decided not to do so this winter.

Are you on another pitch there untill we go or just arriving and going on there straight away.

We had a look over Easter this year. Thought it was good and preferred it to Almafra . We used to love Los Torres on the beach but they demolished it to build on but planning permission was denied because of the eucalyptus trees. They have now replaced the campsite with El Torres which really does seem soulless. They are all a bit caracterless in my opinion but Villajoyosa for me is a great town fighting hard to keep its Valencian identity.

For any rugby fans there over winter Villajoyosa has an excellent rugby club . Happy Days.
