One we are on now, Algarve Motorhome Park Falésia, OMG you can't ask for better, Sun & sea, Beach 300 meters away (although there are stairs to access the beach, very quite site, Grey & Black waste disposal, EHU, Drinking water, although hot showers and toilet are extra (€1 shower & 50cents toilet) there are outside cold showers which are free, washing machines & dryers, Hard standing gravel pitches, Free wi-fi which is very fast, this is by far the best wifi signal I have ever had on any site, you can't book this site, it is first come first serve, it is a very busy site, people arriving & leaving every day, there are temporary pitches for overnight, staff will try their best to accommodate you, and a great price too, what is there not to like.
Price: €10 per night with out EHU, €12.5 with EHU

This is a fantastic part of Portugal I go to Olhus D'Agua up the coast most years for my holibobs and I always walk into Falisia. Last month I noticed van after van heading there. Lovely beaches there and lovely relaxed people. Boa tarde.

It is a great place, first time down here in a Motorhome, we have less than 60 days left with a threat of spending it all here and ditching the rest of our plans, only had Hotel hoildays down this way before.

I've never been there in my van, only holidays via plane. We've booked again for the autumn. I just can't get sick of going.....to the frustration of my wife. When I retire I'll take a motorhome trip there for a few months hopefully...... motorhomes will probably fly by then
You have probably been but, there is a village called Alt which is ovs inland...it's in the hills it's mesmerising also.

Is it Alt that has the Donkey in its own little field as you approach the town and the river which runs parallel with the town ?

Alte with a E my mistake. I stayed near here on our honeymoon about 10years ago. Yes the river runs through it and has been made into a outdoor bathing pool. Here we had free parking, use of communal BBQ and there was often free entertainment on evenings where you could sit in the outdoor amphitheatre?. The walks around here are fantastic. fonte-grande-alte-portugal.jpg

We stayed at the same site in March and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We actually went to their sister sites in Tavira and Silves as the quality and value for money was so good. I think we ended up staying a total of 14 nights out of a 5.5wk visit then went off to Portimao

Might I add, The restaurant ROULOTTE DO SR. ANTÓNIO just across the road, wow don't be put off by looks, more like a caribbean restaurant on the beach or brazilian road side. food is great, been so good, we have used it quite a lot, we keep going back for more, do try it, and great value.

We stayed at the sister site in Tavira in February. I’d echo all you’ve said, well kept, good MH facilities and friendly.
We were thinking doing Tavira for a one or two night stop before entering Spain, is there a bus service to the center or is it easy walking?

Peregrinator, I’d be surprised if there was a bus, the site is at the end of a road with little else about. However there is a shopping mall about 5 minutes walk away which includes large Continente. The riverside in the town centre is about another 15 minutes walk, all flat with pavements.

Very easy walking. Flat as a pancake but it's a good mile but worth it.
As an aside, will you ask our glorious leader to REMOVE THIS POST.
Never got to stay at Falesia because it was so bl**dy popular and now you've posted this. No chance, forever :giggle:
Don't know how good Falesia is but it's twin at Tavira is marvellous.
Recommend the showers. Big enough for two! Don't ask me how I know:whistle2:

Hey ditto, about everything
Motorhomers leaving every day, so if you wait, most likely get in, we stayed in one of the temporary pitches for the night. and about eight campers left that morning.

When we were there, Winter before last, we gave them four days notice of our arrival and, on the day before, sent them an email stating we would arrive AM.

There were two pitches reserved for us but we couldn't get in by the same means to Falesia when we wanted to move on.

Thats right, they don't take bookings, it's first come first served.

Now at Algarve Motorhome site Tavira one of its sister sites, as Falesia same price and services well laid out nice site.
Plenty of room at the moment.

If you want to get into Falesia and are staying at Tavira, ask the girls in the reception for availability and they had a list and got us a space after a 2 or 3 days which tied up with us getting ready to move on

Thanks for the info but they have the available of pitches for each site on there website.
At the moment there's 27 here and 18 at Falesia (Cliff) so plenty of room.
April May June is the quiet time, they do a special book 3 you get 4.

We stayed here last year and had a cycle to Vilamoura, lovely harbour with restaurants and shops.

Thanks for the info, pitched up today and think we might hunker down for a few days whilst the weather is ok. Been trying to dodge the thunderstorms and rain without much success for the last 3 weeks🙄
