Our Alde water heater has continued to heat the water to almost scalding but we’ve not got it switched on ? Any ideas ?

Are you saying you have the heating on but the water heating is Off?

Both the heating and water were off. We were on EHU on 3 kw.

Which control panel do you have,on ours if you select 2+1 kw it turns it on,does it stay on even with the panel turned off? Next step would be unplugging EHU and see if it resets..

I would suggest it wasn’t off if it heated the water. It can be tricky to negotiate the panel, as others have said, a photo would help.

We have the 3010 and you can’t turn hot water off, as soon as electric or gas is selected we get hot water

Bit of a nuisance for us , I leave heating set at 8C as frost protection even parked at home, heating rarely cuts in but we always have hot water

I suppose the system heats the fluid ready for if the circulation pump is switched on by the roomstat, if the fluid is hot it will heat any water in the tank.

I think the hot water just can’t be turned off, the water is properly hot, but just warm 👍

How would you know you were on a 3kw supply ?? Thats is usually measured in amps.. ie 6,10, 16 amp from the EHU bollard.
Are you maybe looking at the 1,2,3kw setting on the Alde panel ? that allows you to select the max power your boiler can use dependent on the ampage supplied.. ie if your on a low amp site like 6amps you can place the boiler on 1kw to save overloading and tripping the supply.

As mentioned if you have the 3010 panel it does not allow you turn off the water, so if you set the panel on 3kw it would be getting pretty hot and i must admit even on standard mine gets to hot really.

I thought you could alter the temperature of the water in settings. Should not be scalding Also 1kw setting is usually enough in ours

Not on the 3010 panel.. I did ask Alde if it was possible to upgrade but they said no..
Later models like the 3020 can be turned off fully.
As soon as you turn the 3010 panel on the water heater is activated, You have a boost feature but nothing to turn it off completely.
Not sure on the pre-set temperature but it is pretty hot..

There is a black valve next to the boiler that you can turn the water temperature up or down. Regards nick

We have the early 3000 model and the water needs to be turned on at the panel, via the slider switch.

If you go to the "services" page on the control panel what does it show for the water and glycol temperatures ?

On our panel there is definitely an off for the water on the daytime mode screen
We leave ours on 5deg on path incase of frost but have the water set to off… the screen panel is a little awkward but definitely an off button at the bottom of daytime mode screen. On the 2023 model can we have

The first thing we tried was to disconnect the EHU and leave it for a few hours. Bingo , it worked! Thank you whoever it was to suggest that.
We’ve had the MH for four years and never had the problem before.
It’s a Burstner Ixeo 680g( in champagne) and we love it. In Baltic Wharf till the morning.Great place to visit Bristol.
