We're away at the minute for New Year without ehu and the Alde heating will not fire up properly.
I've safefill bottles and while filling one up the cut off didn't work and like a fool I was busy talking and overfilled the bottle. With hindsight I should have vented some gas off but instead connected up.
Now to my problem.
Hob and fridge work fine but Alde heating is not firing up properly. It tries to light and then fails and then repeats the sequence. Sometimes it will stop and I get gas failure on the control panel. Also the hot water symbol will only show off or on full. No half way.
This all happened after the gas bottle fiasco.
Can anyone help me please? It's a bit chilly.

No expert but sounds like you may have messed up the regulator? Does the oven, hob and grill all work at the same time?

Real experts are on their way👍

This is taken from a caravan forum .. it might help?

Although, the panel says gas failure warning. The actual fault is caused by an interruption to the 12v supply. I think that the Alde advice is to switch of the panel disconnect the white plug to the boiler then reconnect. What I have done in the past, well Friday actually is switch then panel off and pull the fuse that supplies the boiler and put it back in again. You can also do it by momentarily disconnecting the battery lead. I have had this fault when playing with the 12v system, quite scary and thoughts of costing me ££££££’s. Ironically the incident on Friday we had stayed on a CL Thursday night because the van was, going in for a service. I noticed the fault showing when I explaining to the engineer what I wanted doing. So I pulled the fuse and replaced it took me less than a 30

seconds. I assume the fault was thrown up because the system had been left on and or I had unplugged the ehu lead prematurely.

I would certainly Go and vent off (safely !) the overfilled bottle. I have read stories where liquid lpg has got into the system and blew the boiler up.. My local filler always did my safefill but one day there was a young guy who just kept pressing the button and put 23ltrs into a bottle advised as a max 19ltr... I called Safefill and had to vent off with a wooden spoon and thick gloves.

Might just be a coincidence with the overfill and Alde failure. My Alde has only ever failed to light when there was low pressure as the bottles started to run out.. The hob would always work but the heating failed, i used this as a guide to swop the bottles over.. Do you have another bottle to test it with..

Vented the bottle and also tried another half full bottle.
