Merry Xmas / Happy New Year All.

I am currently away up Northumberland with the MH for the New Year. This is the first time I have used it since having repairs done to my Sargent Unit and Control Panel.

Looking for some help on my heat settings.

The heating is working fine but the problem is that it is too hot. I have tried turning the temperature down on the control panel and also on the Alde control panel but it just seems to run at around 23 degrees even when I set it at 17 degrees.

Any ideas anyone of what the problem might be? It is on a Bessacarr 597.

Ta Steve

I don’t know much about this system, but as it is a wet system, it won’t be as simple as turn the temp down and it will cool. It will take a period of time for the fluid in the system to loose it temperature.

Are you giving it time?

Can you turn the temperature down until the 'pump running' symbol goes out ?

You can check the glycol temperature, this would let you know if it’s still heating or turning off and cooling down.

Press the settings symbol, you should then get different symbols and an up and down arrow to change page. In mine I go up one page and have a few boxes with different headings, press the service one and this will tell you the glycol temp and water temp, you’ll also see pump speed so will know if it’s on or off once above set temperature.

Another thing to check is whether you have two thermostats readings, I have one on my main screen and one on my ALDE screen, you can adjust it by - or +5 degrees so they match. I have no idea why the mismatch at times but I recalibrate a couple of times a year.

How do I recalibrate?

The below is from memory if it’s incorrect let me know and I’ll pop out to the van and go through the steps for you.

There is a setting on the ALDE screen, I think the symbol is a thermometer. Select this and you should then see a +\- sign, if you’re other reading says 21 degrees but ALDE is different then just change that to read the same using the +&- buttons.
