Hi all, hoping for some advice please.
We have Alde heating in our Knaus motorhome. Serviced in last month and has been working perfectly.
Suddenly ‘gas failure’ came up on control panel.
A few days before the Gaslow changeover valve made a vibrating knocking noise and when I moved it slightly the noise stopped (everything is5 years old).
Spoke to the service engineer in uk and he thought it was more of a gas supply issue so I replaced the changeover valve with the one that initially came with the van.
Hey presto all has been fine for a couple of days…until this morning when the dreaded ‘gas failure’ light came back on.
Did a reset of Alde boiler (main plug out and back in after two minutes) and it’s now working again.

We’re just inside Spain around Bilbau on the way to Morocco.
Any ideas please, is this an Alde issue or do I need to get a new gas valve?

Is it cold there? If you've filled with gas in Spain it's more butane so may not gas in the cold, if you have a 2nd bottle with uk gas change to that and see if it works.

And of course the most simple one is the bottle nearly empty?

Any way of telling? Or is it a question of just buying a new one?

Have you anything else that runs on gas, and is that working OK?

But the boilers need a higher pressure than say a hob or fridge and if the regulator is a bit bunged up it maybe reducing pressure.
Just spoken to Alde and they believe it to be oil build up in regulator.
Is that a shop around and try and get a new one or are they repairable/ serviceable

Is the regulator higher than the gas bottles, if not when you fit a new one make sure it is as it helps stop the problem.
