Hi all
My alde 3000 boiler is not working properly it turns on gas runs for a few minutes but cuts out due to over heating any ides what could be the problem.

Is it making any noises? Could be an airlock.?
If it's for hot water ,just try trickling water out of a hot tap to see if it cuts out again. Can you hear a pump running?

Give your fan a spin

The 3000 shouldn't have a fan, its a wet radiator system of sorts
The boiler has two thermostats, one for hot water one for heating ....both are maximum temperature cut-off thermostats.
If one has failed and thinks the water is at temperature it will cut the gas supply.
Both stats are at the opposite end to the pipework and simply slide into the boiler.

Bleed the system and make sure the Glycol is full enough.

Is it a red overheat fail or a combustion chamber overheat.

The Alde compact 3000 has a combustion fan👍

I might even have one in the shed at home👍

ALDE - HEATING - COMBUSTION FAN - FOR COMPACT MODEL - 3000-452

yes a stuck or failed combustion fan gives those symptoms

It has a combustion air fan.

I have a spare combustion fan for a 320 at home it’s a bit noisy but was working ok if you want to try it Tony

It has a combustion air fan.
I can hear a noise that sounds like a fan running when it starts and runs for 5 mins then it cuts out if I go back to it 5 mins later it starts up normaly but runs for 4 or mins and stops again.

Best to check k on line for the instructions and see where they are located, they should be easy enough replace.

This from another RV forum and via Alde:

Hello there. This is a relatively common mistake. The pump symbol (circle of arrows) does not animate. There are no animated graphics on any of the Alde control panels. Since you describe your heating as working, you shouldn't need your dealer to inspect.

"Fan Failure" is a very specific error message, displayed on the Standby Screen. It indicates the combustion fan has not reached sufficient speed (rpm) or possibly isn't moving at all. In a brand new installation, this is most likely stiffness. After a few attempts it should loosen off (indeed in the latest control panels the error message "Fan Restarts.. ." is displayed).

In an older installation, it could be the fan motor is failing, or a poor connection; the fan is connected to the boiler PCB by a short cable.

If needing repair/maintenance on your Alde system whilst on your travels, we recommend using the Alde Service App. It uses the GPS in your smartphone to locate your nearest Alde-certified service agent.

Sounds like the pump may not be working and not dragging the water away, I’ve had this before, just heats the water in the boiler and because the pump isn’t pulling it away and replacing it with cooler water it just cuts out, maybe check your pump is on a 12v setting

It doesn't matter whether water circulates or not, or indeed whether the hot water section has water in or not. As long as the heating circuit has fluid in it the boiler and CH should operate as normal. It sounds very like a combustion fan or air intake problem.

If the heating circuit has fluid in it and is round the hot part of the boiler and it doesn’t circulate via the pump It will shut down, I’ve experienced it first hand with my alde on more than one occasion👍

It should shut down when the heating fluid achieves 65/70 degrees. That is a normal function and is what happens when on hot water only.

Well in Germany in a cold winters night mine was doing the same thing, as you say Tony, getting hot and shutting down, a quick check of the pump settings, selected 12v pump and the pump whirred into life and took away the hot fluid from the boiler and worked fine after that. If it’s not escaping the boiler via the pump it will just get hotter and shut down
I don’t know how the pump settings had changed btw🤷‍♂️
I think there’s a thread on it from December 2021

The problem is the thermostat that is cutting out. Had the same problem years ago, had to take the cover off the boiler disconnect the thermostat wire, leave for 3 minutes then boiler is reset. Needs a new thermostat.

The op has stated that most suggestions are beyond his level of skill. So perhaps speaking to Alde direct could get a local engineer, there are many, to call in and fix it.

Hi all
Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. I have emptied the wardrobe and can now see that the alde fluid is below the minimum which could be the problem as the hot water side of the system is working as it should so top up level and check it for airlock is my next plan.

Well done you. I hope it works for you.
