I see tax on alcoholic beverages have risen from today. This make’s going to France even more attractive if, like me, you like a tipple or three.Over the years I have often bought many cases of wine (as much as 120 bottles), watch your van weight, I figure this more than pays for travel costs and some fuel. Coupled with campsite cost being generally lower it’s much cheaper motorhoming abroad than in the U.K.

The way I understood it explained on Radio 4 earlier, was that duty will CHANGE. More on bottle takeaway and less in Pubs? Did I hear wrongly?

That's exactly what they said, also that the lower the alcohol content the less tax paid.

Draft alcohol will be cheaper BUT the same increase on bottled stuff applied to pubs as well as supermarkets. So they will be dearer.
