transit carado a464
Hi there, I've tried looking but can't seem to find the answer,
We have a 2008 Mk7 transit coach built carado a464
We have been using it alot and enjoying it but can't work out how to lock the doors without arming the alarm which leaves me a little un easy when sleeping in a car park etc.
I've looked online and seen stuff about on the dash screen being able to disarm but don't think it relates to our year of van.
The alarm arms when using the remote to lock, also when you just push the handle in internally, also if you jump out and use the key to lock the front end(as the side access door is separate)
Any help greatly appreciated

Why would it be a bother if the alarm is armed during the night on the cab doors ? On our 2014 Mk7 Transit there is no space sensors, just contacts for the doors and bonnet. So unless you or a villain opens your cab doors during the night the alarm will not be triggered.

The motion sensors etc are enabled and I have no idea how to disable them, so the alarm keeps going off if I lock the doors. This means I can't lock the cab doors at all without the alarm(sensors included) being armed and setting the alarm off constantly when we're inside. Meaning the front is completely unlocked whenever we sleep in the van

Is it fitted with an aftermarket alarm or an optional extra? Try covering sensors?

my ford fitted alarm on my van, you disable the internal sensors each time via the steering wheel buttons. On earlier ones it is on the dashboard, but sorry escapes my mind exactly how I did it

It does have an aftermarket as well as whatever is standard but I don't know what alarm it is, plus the alarm arms just using the ford key to lock, not only with the fob attached
How do you disable it with the steering controls? I have steering controls as well

Where are your internal sensors fitted, none on our Transit. I presume it is just the standard Ford Transit alarm with no added bits ?

Internal sensors are on the a pillars at the top
amazingly tho I've tried the tape over the sensors and I can lock myself away safe, can't believe I didn't think of it and it's so simple but I was obviously trying to work out how to operate van correctly (if you know what I mean)

A double click of the fob button (about 2 seconds apart) disables the internal sensors on some alarms.

Not familiar with the transit but surely it must have an internal button/switch so you can centrally lock it whilst inside or driving that does not activate sensor part of alarm and just locks doors..

Sorry to sound stupid but do you mean one press to lock then another press a couple of seconds later to disarm sensors. Or one press to lock then two more presses a few seconds later

Press to lock then press the same button again.

Mines 2009 double click deadlocks the cab doors. No movement sensors on my standard Ford alarm.

double click is usually to dead lock then continue to hold till it beeps to disable sensors

on my van, a 2018, you press the down button on the steering wheel then ok. It then comes up on the dash that internal sensors are disabled
