Looking for any suggestions for a stopover between Somport tunnel and Pau.
Will be traveling from Spain to Dieppe early March not sure wether or not to travel this route or use our normal route crossing at Irun. Never done it before but fancy a change thanks

We have stayed here a couple of times Dave. Not far of the main Pau road.

There is a large parking area before the tunnel..
Used to stop over with the kids during the day, cant see there being any issue with doing an overnight if needed. No facilities.

Cheers Steve looking to have a look at Canfranc station then push on a bid further if possible

All Spanish side of the border routes are lovely, however I am not fond of the roads on the French side where there are heavy trucks and winding corners.

Dont try the aire at Orleon. Very tight entrance and sometimes cars will park making it almost impossible.

There’s a nice one here Dave, and the linte chocolate factory shop is up the road…👍🏼😆😎

On the French side of the som port there are dozens of well off road picnic areas you can use. I've used most of them.
