Free Aire near Dax today, plus a car he's just nipped out in.

What's the problem, is it short of room?

It's a bit like those that empty thier toilets in a hedge. The poor behaviour (or ignoring of rules in this case) result in the loss of such facilities for the rest of us.

It’s a quandary and should be made clear really, it’s okay saying, plenty of space so what’s the problem but the problem can come later say toward a weekend when the Aire fills.
Those that are users of CCP will be aware that you get emails promoting a particular region or new Aire and so on, the following image came the same way and yet it clearly shows an Awning when we understand they are not allowed.

Taking the p, I have no problem with a wind out awning being put put out as it can be easily retracted if the space is needed but that is just not on.

As its a CCP Aire why not give them a ring or send them a photo and make sure his reg is showing.

Agree with the first(to get clarification) but not the last line...

It’s an old municipal aire that was taken over by campingcarpark with set out pitches, perhaps it has different regulations..🤷🏼‍♂️

I have seen this behaviour before on Aires but only Aires that are similar to sites…😎
If it has marked pitches and he is within a marked space (which was not made clear) then I wouldn't complane but he is still taking the p a bit.

The French don't care. They will have a 20ft table out tonight and will all be drinking and eating together:giggle:(Edited to say I always find them to be very friendly(y))

There’s a difference between CCP Aires and CCP camping sur mon village. These are, as has been said ex municipal campsites, and I believe not only allow awnings, but caravans and tents. People do struggle at times to find something to moan about.

Seen the same on the old aire at Mimizan....french guy got his driveaway awning out and hammered massive steel pegs into the tarmac! Lots of folk came over to look, even the police stopped and chatted to him, then laughed as they left...no problem. Surprising how the French have never heard of the Vicarious rules, eh? Love it. When in France and all that!

I think these things are allowed on CCP , same as caravans and tents.
We were on some last year where folks were there with bikes.
