I have rear suspension on my Autotrail Delaware and have tried a few different settings. First 30, then 50 and now 60. I find the latter the best for a smoother drive and cornering.
0.5 bar is the 'minimum' stated pressure for 'VB' Air Bags when the vehicule is not in use. I run at 1.5 to 2 bar - absolute Max 2.5 bar, depending on load and in my opinion most importantly it depends on the route taken. and the 'driving style' required for said route.I travel with mine at 2.5 bar running at around 3800kgs (36 psi) but do drop down to .5 bar when not being used in the winter. Something I have always done maybe OCD but don't kill the poster
That’s ‘cos you is an old fart innittI don’t know why but I have never worked with bar, I’ve always gone with psi…
It will vary with manufacturer I guess but my AS system settings shown below

I used a small bike pump that I clipped under the driver's seat. Took less than 2 minutes to pump up both sides from empty to ride pressure. The volume of air and pressure required is really low. A compressor might be convenient, but it really feels like overkill to me.I have one gauge and two isolation valves. I wish now I'd had an integral compressor fitted as well but I manage with my normal tyre compressor.
When I rang AS and gave them the van reg number they said they had been fitted 12 years before. That put it around 2008 so not doing badthere's airbags and there's airbags. Dunlop and Goodyear are very good and stronger than the likes of the rabina ones used on the cheap ebay kits. But nothing like as strong as the type used in truck suspension
