I am being told by an experienced motorhome traveller and current CROSSOVER owner that air suspension cannot be fitted because of the positioning of the water tanks and associated parts.

Does anyone have semi air or full fitted to any MLT variant including CROSSOVER?

(Talking to VB at NEC about fitting semi air to an MLT, they did not mention any issues)

I spoke to Armitages re this a couple of months ago. They advised;

'' We can provide the VB air suspension for the rear, we did a SemiAir kit on a 4X4 Crossover yesterday so no problem with that, cost is £1674 for the kit supplied and fitted and it does require an extra reinforcement being the 4X4 which is an extra £180.''

It appears that with-out the reinforcement it could bend the chassis rail.

I'm still pondering what I might do re suspension. The stock setup seems OK so far but I haven't used it anger yet. Rather than Air Assist I may improve the dampers - I've been pointed towards these guys by the German Hymer forums. Marquarts Shock Absorbers.

There is a whole world of mods out there for Sprinter suspension upgrades ... e.g. Owl Vans

I have a Mercedes 2018 MLT 570

We had air suspension and a towbar fitted by LNB of Bristol. It took them a day.

To save your fingers a lot of walking, it would appear the two best companies in this sector (Air suspension and towbars on motorhomes) are LNB of Bristol and Armitages in Yorkshire.

Having spent a few hours in the LNB waiting room (with free coffee, magazines etc) I heard their sales team turn away at least a couple of punters on the basis their vehicle was not suitable for whatever was proposed.

Give them a call, it could save you a lot of time and effort

I have been thinking of getting a MLT 570. Had a look at a couple last week and was also wondering about the air suspension and the shocks. I am going to test drive the newer model and see if this handles better.

I spoke to a German company I know of, they can do it and also have a further range of mods you can get fitted. I also spoke to a UK company.

This is from the UK company site:
If you are planning to use your MTL 4×4 on rough roads, or just further improve the road handling of the vehicle, a shock absorber replacement should also be considered. The vehicle in the picture was fitted with VB semi air and Koni shocks all round.
