Air Cushion

Just had a look in the motorhome - not used for 3-4 weeks.
All good except Alde control panel had red dot on the on/off switch and message something like Air Cushion warning.
Pressed the switch - new message - may need to drain and replenish fresh water.

I have no idea what that is all about!

Elddis 285, Alde heating, plugged in to mains, heating set to 8 deg. water drained but boiler tap not opened.

Help!!!

and maybe you need to disable the hot water, while not in use

Never heard of this until a few weeks ago, then the Radford's said about it when they went to alde, then a week later we had it! Dead easy, just need to drain a little water out from the boiler, turn pump off, open hot water tap, then open the release valve on the boiler for a few seconds, and that's it, simple as that.
Just allows a bit of air in the boiler.

Great - sorted the air cushion.

Now ,can I switch off the hot water but keep the heating on?

Yes, that’s what I do when not traveling. Heating set to 8 degrees (don’t ask me why, it’s just a random comfortable number) and hot water off.
