Camping Calais La Plage is a camping site in Calais, close to the Ferry port €23.00 per night, including electric. Heated showers and toilet blocs. Gate to beach. Limited opening times 14.00/17.00 but leave and return anytime with your pin number. Next to a Aire De Service. And A gated Aire, payable but I don’t know how much, Water, toilet/grey disposal. Waste bins. Superbly clean, tarmac roads, grass pitch. 10x10 metre pitch with easy wide driveway in. A great site in a good location. Book on the internet or call reception. Leave by midday.

When you come to leave sometime the barrier won’t always go up ,so we go to Gravelines.

Thanks everyone got to a aire it's gated and a few vans here so canny safe we will be away by 6.30 to 7 in the morning as about 8 km away and booked on the 9 ferry we changed it from Sunday for £25 as the rain is and has been for the last week horrendous we were going to Dunkirk today but got stuck in flooding and the diversions kept taking us to low bridges so ! We have had a fab 11 weeks and now don't want to spoil it and going home. Even get to the club Sunday morning. Thanks again Heather

We overnighted there in September before getting the ferry. Found it very good. When we were about to leave we noticed a big motorhome trying to get out, it was there a few minutes. We then went up to the barrier and wife went to the first machine and barrier would not raise. We then noticed the second machine which turned out to be the EXIT one! I think they are marked for ENTRY and EXIT but easy to not notice as such.

Thank you I'm a bit paranoid now but just been watching a couple checking out the machines and the barrier went up so thank you feel a bit more happy now

We were there in September I seem to recall the barrier not going up on first attempt because we'd typed the wrong code into the keypad. I think we typed in what we thought was the code but in fact it was the timestamp on the ticket/receipt. Once we typed the actual code in in went up fine.

Felt like a safe stop over, would use it again.
