The air bag warning light has come on but the manual just tells you to take it to a dealer. Are there any common issues I'm likely to be able to fix myself?

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
It seems to be a common issue.

Save youself a lot of time and money and send the ecu off to Crash data for repair. Costs about £90 incl postage. Yes people will post other things to check but go for most probabale cause (by far) and do this. There are loads of posts on here telling you how to do this if you're not sure.

I read all the posts re the airbag ecu as mine went west 1 month ago. mixed reveiws on Crashdata so rather than waste time and money after doing what checks I could do my self I took it to our local Fiat Professional dealer and they fitted new one which is warrantied for 12 months, the M/H was only off the road for 3 hours and the peace of mind was worth the money.

Should be a two year warranty on a Fiat.
Can you advise a cost for that please.
Mine was £450.

It was expensive as all dealings with main dealers are, approx £250 for the part plus fitting, approx £370 all in. I queried the warranty and they told me Fiat is standard 12 months part warranty.
