You may remember last September on our trip to France the air bag light came on for no apparent reason. It then went out again after 10days.
It failed again over the winter and I had to blank out the red light for the MOT on 4 th of April.
The error message does get annoying but I can live with it.
We have now been back in France for 10 days and the light as gone out - once again for no apparent reason.

I would suggest that you don't have it repaired straight away or for a good while -- if you don't have an MOT imminent.

Same for me in Spain "passenger airbag disabled" sign flashing away need multiecuscan to reset then see if it returns, suspect low battery after being stood over winter, but why it came on after 700 miles of this trip only the fiat gremlins know.

Or a crash booked. Presumably the air bags don’t deploy which is a bit more worrying than an annoying light.

I have spent a lifetime driving van's without air bags, I won't be losing any sleep over this one not having one.

I was a few cars behind a driver who was rear ended and spun into a motorway barrier. The young woman driving it was very badly shaken when I got to her but her air bag had deployed and she still had a face because of it.

Yep --- we wrote a 4x4 Ford off in the US about ten years ago. I wasn't driving. The air bags went of but the seat belts still hurt the most.
Surprised you're still OK driving without airbags then.

The air bags went off with a bang but the seat belts stopped me and the driver hitting anything. The seat belts bruised our shoulders so the airbags were not much use in that accident.

Well the air bag light has stayed off for over three days now.
But -----
Yesterday the Bloody check engine light came on and it dropped into limp mode.
I managed to get it up the hill, turned it off and back on and gave it a severe thrashing for 10 minutes.
It was on all day yesterday but back off again this morning :swear2:
It seems ignoring all error lights is the correct procedure with Fiat Ducato:Eeek:

I wonder if your insurance is valid with a very important bit of safety equipment not working. I'm sure your policy will state something like "you are responsible to keep the vehicle maintained and in good working order"

Probably just a bad connection, my smax had a dodgy connection under drivers seat, took plug apart and tweeted connectors, was ok then connector for steering wheel ring started playing up after a bit of trial and error found it wiring was ok in a certain position so tie wrapped it in that position and been fine since

Could be but it's working again now.
How long do you wait?
Would I have spent £500 getting a fault fixed when it wasn't necessary?

Yeah.

Air bag light still out
Check engine light still out

But

Today the Hill Hold error message and light has come on.
Should I just ignore this one as well? :swear2:

No
Time for some decent diagnosis software.
Or just pluck out of the air a typical Fiat problem that covers multple errors.
You wont be wasting your time if you play about with cleaning or replacing or adding additional earth straps.
So do nothing and wait for another problem.

Are the other warning lights fully lit?

As there is another common fault where there is more of a glow to warning lights that seem to be on - it’s a fault with the dashboard.

if you place a cover over the dashboard you can check the brightness of the lamp.

Though likely error re airbag light is different.

Hope this helps

I bought a car once & it was 2 years before I realised the air bag sensors were all disconnected.

No --- when they are on there is no mistaking them. But they have all gone out again.
I have a mate with a Snap on reader that seems to find most faults ---- whe I get home
