we are currently in the south of france but my wife has decided she would like to visit her sisters in Alicante, as if its just down the road, can anyone recomend
a stop over on the way down.

Hi Adam , An idea of where approx would you be thinking of staying would help. it depends on how far you are travelling.
 
Are you after campsites, aire , wild camp ??

Somewhere like Peniscola / Benicassim would be half way ish and lots of sites along there..
Few private aires along that way..

No recommendations but Half way puts you in the L'Hospitalet de Infant/Cambrils area.

Theres a few ACSI sites around there.

Cambrills would make a good stopover, stayed at the ACSI site Playa Cambrills for 2 weeks at the end of April on the way home from Spain.

Ended up at torte la sal near castellon.
