Well I finally clicked the buy it now button and got myself back onto 2 wheels after selling my car and motorcycles in 2007 to pursue my dream of owning a motorhome and traveling. Still got a helmet, jacket and boots but sold off the rest over the years. What's your opinion on my purchase?
:dance2:

Is it a TTR250 or XT600. Look good.
I’ve still got my trail riding kit- you never know what’s around the corner.

XT 600, might be OK for a bit gentle greenlaning.

Looks loads of fun but deffo get a new lid, wouldn't use one 13 years old !!

Watch out for wheelies with all that ironwork on the back too !!
Yeah I did think about that, it is a Fibreglass one though.

Is that a pill- box in the background?

Bike looks ok to me,but if I got on it,I’d be off again at the first bend...ouch!

Well done on getting back on 2 wheels. As has been said, get a new helmet, the very best you can afford. Then treat everyone else on the road as if they are out to get you. No matter how good you think you are there others out there who really shouldn't be driving. Having said all that, enjoy (y)

where do you keep the loo rolls, tea , coffee, bacon, crocs, wellies, daft hat and of course the dog:unsure:...........?

Welcome back to two wheeled fun!! Just take things easy to start with and I'll reiterate what others have said about buying a new lid. Most of all, enjoy it!!

Looks like a cared for machine. Go easy to get used to it and have the right clothing.

That looks like fun. Repeat of earlier posts, buy a new helmet. Pay good money above all make sure it fits correctly.
Remember, if you’ve got a £50.00 head buy a £50.00 helmet.

Nice bike, just the thing for going where your fancy takes you.

Now, playing devil's advocate, there's a counter argument not to buy the best helmet you can afford. If you do you won't have money left over to buy a neck brace, which is arguably as important if you are off-roading that brings a relatively high risk of a low speed but unpredictable fall

Absolutely agree. My son uses a neck brace when he goes off road with his bike.

Bit more than that !
I know a lady who rode to India on one, then spent a year riding just about everywhere you can think of :) Damned good all rounder

How many times have I sold my off road kit, thinking I would stick to tarmac in future, only to change my mind? You've got me twitching again.
That's were eBay comes in handy, just bought a pair of £200 Furygan textile trousers for £80.

On the road today...sold the Deauville and bought a R E Himalayan so I can do a bit of green lanes now and again.

Will try to get pics on (not my best ) but have done about 400 miles and very impressed ..after used to more powerful bikes. It handleswell and quite nippy for 24.5 hp has only done 1000 miles when bought it so still running in ( 50/55 ish mph ) comfortable and easy to work on /service (one reason I bought it.)
ABS /fuel inj /ohc/4 gall tank /carrier/disc brakes / 2 yr guarantee (although front brake not brill ..have put EBF pads in )Filled up today 9.01 ltr /177 miles (about 88 mpg) the DV was getting a bit heavy (or me getting old/weak ) the Himi is no feather weight about 198 tanked up but really well balanced and feels easy to push around. To sum it up so far am pleased ..powerful enough for me and I can do a bit of light green laning again when I am out (have an XR125L just rebuilt for harder stuff )

Forgot to update you guys, had great fun stripping down and rebuilding....
