Advice on buying a used 2008 Ducato 3.0 160 p.s. Automatic Firenze Ace

Afternoon all,

Having rescued and restored an old Talbot Express during lockdown, we have fallen in love with all things Motor-homing and are now looking to upgrade!

We have joined today as we are a viewing a 2008 Ducato 3.0 160 p.s. Automatic Firenze Ace tomorrow and were hoping we could get some pointers as to what to look out for outside of the normal things. I would be interested if anyone has driven the auto gearbox as I have read on line differing reports on its performance.

We also read about some manufacturers recalls, spare wheel and suspension? Would anyone know where we could find out if they have been done?

It’s a 2 owner, FSH, last habitation check in 2021 and looks in good order.

Welcome. Can't offer much advise on the mechanical side. Do a good damp check, try all appliances. Maybe someone else will be along to give more input.

It did not apply to all Fiat Ducato vans/ Motorhomes but a Fiat van main dealer should be able to check if the spare wheel carrier recall was needed , and done , using the VIN number ( the recall was R/2011/098 ,and the only one for Ducato 2008 models , according to the recall notices that can be found on the gov/recall website)
