We have sold our motorhome and phoned Adrian Flux to cancel our policy, they said no refund (renewal 1 10 2023) and £35 cancellation fee to pay. Well I refused to pay the fee and argued why no refund.They said no that's it so they have put a dummy reg on the paperwork and let the policy lapse in October????

Look at the policy. There will be a clause setting out cancellation rights/obligations!

I had similar when we got rid of our car...cost to cancel so told them to let the policy lapse. However, after some to'ing and fro'ing, they eventually wrote it off (the payment due, not the car)

Pretty common to have no refund on policy cancellation but it does seem a bit rough to pay a cancellation fee as well. I suppose if you don't cancel and there's a third party claim it could result in a fair bit of hassle
