Just buying
Hi,
We are just about to buy an Adria Twin supreme as above. Wondering If anyone else 6 ft3 has one, and whether it is comfortable to sleep in…..we tried it at an Exhibition, which is difficult with so many people trying to get a look in…… but now my Husband is worried that the bed won’t be long enough. If he can sleep with his head into the window recess
(we’d need to devise some method of blackout so as not to squash the fitted blind)then he thinks it would be fine.
Any feedback would be welcome.
Cheers
Bridget

We have a 2019 slb and I'm 6'3. Fit on the bed driver side as its longer only thing I would consider is a quality foam topper to make it a bit more comfortable for longer trips.
Fitted polycarbonate small sheets to cover the blind to stop the pillows squishing them.
Look on the adria twin Facebook group if your on it great source of info.

I'm quite tall as well and the blinds are a constant issue .
I'm interested by what you mean by polycarbonate small sheets.

We attached clear polycarbonate sheets wider than the window apature and half way up the window 5mm thick so I could still slide the blinds down halfway. It stops the pillows crushing the blinds. I fitted these on with sticky velcro so they can be removed in the future. Will try and find a picture and post.

We have a Globecar Campscout which is very similar, the beds are different lengths. Longer one is I think 198 cm. Husband is 6’3” and he sleeps stretched out, to make himself as long as possible 🥴. It’s a ‘just fit’ but he uses a small camping pillow rather than a proper one to gain more length. The other thing he finds is that he can’t stand totally upright in the campervan but not enough that bothers him. The shower is the lowest point.

Alternative to the plastic sheets is to make window 'pads', similar to internal silver screens for the cab, if they are made slightly oversize they jam into the window recess and also give some additional insulation too, saw idea for pads for the roof vents too.

Thanks, that sounds encouraging. We’re hoping to find one in stock locally to spend a bit more time checking it for size…..and will take a small pillow👍

Thanks yes we looked at the globe star, but I think there is slightly more head room in the Adria, which is why we opted for it. Don’t remember the bed being longer than the Adria, which also has a longer bed on the driver side, but I could be wrong, as I am only 5ft 6, it doesn’t affect me!

Hi, yes, thanks, we saw this idea on another forum comment. I’m thinking we wouldn’t use the fitted blind, but fix a blackout with suction pads, so he still has the recess depth for the pillow to sit in🤔

Thanks,
I’ve got my fingers crossed that a combination of these solutions will mean that we don’t have to cancel our van order😳

We have twin singles in an IH PVC. I sleep stretched out find that I can utilise the gangway space. We use home made sheet sleepingbags so that feet are enclosed, they are open to 3/4 way down side for ease of use. I am only 5’11” but of course one sleeps a little down the bed due to pillows and when stretched out toes are pointed down. Once I have had a good stretch, I feel able to curl up a little and go back to sleep.
At home we have a bespoke 7’ bed but are perfectly comfortable in our twins in the van.

Just out of interest….does “just about to buy” mean take delivery or place an order? I’m waiting for a 640SLB and wonder how others on the waiting list are getting on. It seems a very popular van and not easy to find a dealer with one in stock to check these sort of issues out. We’ve currently have a PVC with transverse bed so the bed/size arrangement in the Adria was one of the reasons for buying as we become less agile. Comments about beds in the various reviews I looked at were always positive. Not sure where you live but Brownhills had one at the NEC recently and there was also a demonstrator at Chelston Motorhomes in Wellington a few weeks back.

This our set up works for us I use 2 pillows and can still slide blinds down halfway.

Ours is due end of November. We ordered a year ago at the Birmingham show. Initial delivery date was June/July this year, fingers crossed for end of November.

Good luck, mine is provisionally due in November so here’s hoping. The dealer did a bit of horse trading with another as they had a mismatch between stock allocation and demand.
I haven’t started hassling the dealer as it’s not quite November, but it’s all been very quiet since about March so I’m not holding my breath.
