Adria Twin 640 v VW Grand California

I’m thinking of swapping my Adria Twin for the VW .. mostly for the extra bed ( and saving half a meter in length. Anyone with any insight on why this may or may not be a good idea?

Grand California/Crafter is quite a bit narrower than your Ducato. If you are tall, just check out whether you can sleep across it.

If your local VW Van Centre is anything like the one I used, that tried to rip me off with a quote for £1,400 of unnecessary chassis suspension repairs, that I got sorted for £170 by an independent VW specialist who knew what he was doing, I would stick with Fiat. Fiat Professional may not be cheap but at least they are more competent and honest (so far).

Check the bed size is ok in the vw
You will also loose a bit of storage space somewhere.
