Hi bought an Adria sonic last year.2022 model It has had engine coolant problems twice now with the FIAT engine It’s been in fiat dealer for 6 weeks and are unable to fix the problem, they have disconnected the heat exchange unit thinking this was the problem….. has anyone had a same problem .
thanks

If you can give details of the fault someone else may have had similar experiences and be able to help.
It sounds like poor service from the Fiat workshop if they can't find the problem.
Good luck with it 👍

I take you have an Alde heat exchanger if so you will probably get a big bill from Fiat that you will have to claim back from Adria.
It might need to go to your motorhome dealer for sorting if its to do with the Alde.

I had a problem with rear lights on a Hymer got a bill from Fiat for 400 quid Hymer paid up without a problem but that was in 2008.

They must see it as a job they look at when there's nothing else to do and they're bored with TikTok.
I feel for you, but I think I'd be kicking up a big stink over it. I'm sure it'll be a simple fix if they can be bothered.

Hi. The motorhome dealer can’t fix it, they have disconnected the heat exchanger all together and still the engine is loosing coolant

Oh sh*T not much more you can say.
You would expect they could find a coolant loss can't be internal as you would have white smoke belching out the exhaust so you think it would be obvious. Trouble is they don't employ mechanics any more just parts changers.

It surely is either dripping it onto the floor or burning it one an easy fix the other a challenge

I’m guessing they have let it sit for a few days with cardboard or something similar underneath to see where it is leaking and I mean a few days not hours. The reason I say this is because I had the very same problem with a Frankia MH a couple of years ago. It took weeks to diagnose as the garage kept sending it back to me saying they couldn’t find anything wrong……I found that it was just a jubilee clip that needed tightening on one of the hoses from the coolant. But it would only start leaking 2/3 days after the engine had last been run, due to the hoses sealing themselves under pressure and heat and slowing starting to leak again a couple of days later….and also my drive was on a slight slope which also helped encourage the leak compared to being level on the garage ramps etc.

Yes agree. they are wanting to take the engine out, not want you want or expect from a new van only done 2500 miles.

Is that why they are not rushing to do anything about it?, love the north east we get upto seaton sluice quite often

Get a white tissue or similar white cloth and wipe over the inside of the windscreen after the engine is up to temp and the heater has been run on windscreen demist if any residue it’s the heater matrix. Can you smell the coolant when the heating is on? Sickly sweet smell?
